What would you grade this well worn, dateless 1916 Buff? (Grade in 1st post)

Here is a recent pickup. There is no discernable date, but there is no doubt as to what the date is: AG03?
Edit: 6/2/15 - grade posted, straight grade, FR02. I thought it would go AG03. I've seen others with less detail (and no visible signs of the date) go AG03. There is one on Ebay right now with less detail. Oh well, still not a bad pick!

With no date at all, I think that puts you in 2 territory as opposed to 3, but I really don't know.

Clear doubling on all three feathers as well as doubling of the braids and profile (the profile doubling is light, but it's there)

Yikes, no!!! And risk spending it on an ice-cream cone or something?
It will be on its way to our hosts as soon as I have another coin or two to fill the order...

PCGS Price Guide in AG03 is $2700, but in reality probably somewhere around half that, maybe a little more...

I'm curious how much this variety with an acid-treated date would be worth. Not that I'd recommend it, but there must be some of them floating around out there.

I tend to agree with your statement, but I'll leave that to the new owner to decide.
