have you reunited coins?

so these 2 coins caught my eyes with cert #'s
i have to wonder if i've reunited coins from the same submission from days gone past
have you ever stumbled on such a case too?...uh....no need to post a video of "reunited" by peaches n herbs either

I could be wrong but I don't think that close PCGS cert numbers means they were graded at around the same time. It is true for NGC when you have the cert number followed by a separate number. Any coins in that original NGC sequence were graded together. Considering how many have been cracked out since, not easy to find them.

all my subs run numbers consecutively on cert #'s
these coins shown...were 22 apart in one sub...or back to back subs
22 numbers apart on certs is close

Since they are the same coin, they would have been from a bulk submission that got adopted shortly after birth by different parents.

I recently had two consecutive rattlers. I bought them over a year apart on eBay and didn't notice they were consecutive for another couple years.

I bought a buffalo nickel in a rattler slab last year then realized I had traded it away back in 1988!!

I posted my graded unc and a forum member posted his circ.
A few years and a few pms later they reunited.

Never. I try to separate them if they get too close to one another, just to avoid the rub.

Those '44 S cents are cool...never looked at the slab numbers ...may have some. Maybe one cold, snowy, winter day I will check....hey - that is today

Hey Teddy, these two coins made me think of this thread of yours from last year.

1941-D

3828620-003

1942-D

3828620-006

I was the winning bidder for the 1941-D on EBay. I tried to buy the 1942-D, also, from the same seller for 50 bucks more but was outbid. The buyer re-listed it for 75 bucks more than he paid for it. I liked it, so even though he made a decent 'flip' on me; I'm still mostly happy that I got a second chance at it. The 1941-D cost me $155 and the 1942-D cost me $285, in the end.

Both are MS 66 coins that look better than most that I've seen. You can call these 'widgets' but they are tough to find with good strikes, luster and surfaces. The coins' surfaces look identical to me, except for the dates. I feel that the strikes are good, too.

Definitely from the same NGC submission and/or collection. The 1941-D retails for $250 and the 1942-D for $325.

It's not really reuniting but I did keep 3 sequentially number 1939 P, D, S Oregon Trails together by buying all three in a Heritage auction. They all appeared very similar so I presumed they had been "united" for at least a while.
