I purchased an item from a fellow
forum member on 1/6/15. Sent him
a money order that was cashed on
1/13/15. I PM'd the seller numerous
times as to the status of the order.
I have not received any response
as of this writing. It is 1/16/15,
should I be concerned or should I
just wait a few more days. I don't
want to embarrass this individual.
I guess if nothing happens in a few
days, I will allow other forum members
to PM me with this members identity.
I'm doing this to protect other forum
members. Am I allowed to do this and

Had an issue with a forum member last year, noticed he was selling to others on the boards as well. After reaching out to a fellow board member, it became obvious this individual had inconsistent communication (to put it nicely) as well as a tendency to over promise and under deliver. But in the end, the transaction was completed.
Bottom line...there is wide level of acceptable turn around times on these forums in regards to answering PMs, emails and shipping.
If your transaction is not resolved, this forum needs to know. No need to bash, just be factual with dates/times regarding communications, payment, receipt of payment and then follow up emails/PMs that were never answered. Leave out opinions, name calling, post and let everyone interpret those facts for themselves.
One other note: it has has only been 11 days total. Sometimes things come up and everyone operates at a different pace. If this goes on for another week you may want to ask the forum if anyone knows if this person is OK. especially if they are a frequent forum member here.
Personally, I would not send the "factual email" for at least another 2 weeks but only after you have sent out an " is all ok email" and if you have had no contact with this individual whatsoever.
Just my 2 cents...

Yes you should be concerned. If someone takes your money and doesn't immediately get the product out, answer correspondences , or notify you of "receipt" of money, they come into focus right away. Their honor is at stake, not yours. They should have thanked you first and secondly confirmed receipt of payment , then mailed the product ASAP.
Now, if they are wannabes or minions and do not own the item they're selling or are waiting for it because it's pre sold or in another person's inventory , they should tell you that, too.
But don't' buy my thinking. I am a _ _ _ _ when it comes to business.

This is obviously not the case anymore, so any one who decides to send money to someone with a post count of say, 10... it's buyer beware nowadays !
Personally, I try to limit all my BST transactions to well known members, and preferable those who participate on the US or World forums as well.
You don't have his phone # or email address? For future transactions, it will help to have a phone # to call.

I myself try to be prompt and very communicative, but have learned others are not.....but it doesn't mean they shouldn't be trusted.
Regular shipping was $9.95, priority 2 day was $1 more.
I decided on priority 2 day.
It's the 17th and nothing. I'm not concerned yet, but by Tues the 20th I may be irritated and send an inquiry.
Edit: I didn't mean to hijack this thread my purchase wasn't with the same seller as the OP, mine was with a well known forum favorite, someone with plenty of time to self promote and too busy to deal with customers, a website with likely plenty of items not even in inventory, and doesn't care one bit to make sure it doesn't happen again. I could buy the same item right now as it's showing it's for sale, or I could buy the one next to it, also for sale...throw it in my cart and get nothing. Just hit refund with no explanation whatsoever, and my refund is still pending as of 1/22.

IMO, they found time to cash the MO, so they should also find time to mail the goods.

Many fine, respectable and trustworthy members here, but an element of rouges as well. Just being a forum member is not enough cred to warrant a check or money order payment.

I've seen you "pm sent" to some low post count newbies. I know you pay by Postal MO and have thought you are going to be bit someday, you're too trusting. I hope this works out but you have to change your game plan.

Even if this is true they shuld not sell till they have it in hand. I never sell till I have it in hand you never know some one can sell it from under you and then this happens and you look like a you know. But when one sell's on the BST they need to stay on top of it.
I had ask for a item on the BST he never got back to me so i will mark him off my list and never buy from him or her ever it just tells me he or she does not care and I don't want to buy from some one like that. Hope it all works out for you.

While I will buy/sell with many forum folks, there are very few that I will give out my phone number to.
If someone wants to cancel a deal over it, that's fine with me.
Btw...this thread isn't about me, but I get tired of that bit about getting a phone# from everyone you do a transaction with.....too many forum loonies
I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

Have you contacted the postal inspectors yet? They should at least let you know if he's cashed your M.O.

Postal inspectors won't do anything but take a report.
They don't investigate until there are multiple victims with at least $25,000 involved - and there is plenty of that going on to keep them busy.
You can contact the local police department where the seller lives. Sometimes that will get the sellers attention.
Your best recourse is in a civil small claims court. Depending on your State, there is a question of venue.
In a contract dispute your State may allow the case to be filed in the State where they contract was to be fulfilled (i.e. where the coins were to be delivered).
If you get a judgment then you can try to collect it. Most State's allow for punitive damages in the case of fraud, oppression or malice so you should file for the maximum small claims amount your State allows.

The seller logged in on Sunday January 25, so they should be well aware of non-performance at this point.
