Two New NO $5's

Happened to add two New Orleans $5's to my collection this week, both tough dates. Here is the set in progress, the 43-O and 55-O are NEWPS.

The 42-O is much better than its pic, ex. Littlejohn, RYK

Interesting die variety with doubled O, only four currently identified

Great transactions with oih82w8, JasonGaming, Moose1913.
Of course they're all nice.
<< <i>I have been on the look out for a 1840o broad mil for years, no luck so far. Nice as always >>
Ahh yes, the broad mill 1840-O. Extremely tough and underrated variety.

I do think the 1855-o is exceptional.

Very nice Newps and Collection
The 51-O is actually quite interesting. This example is a very rare die variety that has a full naked eye visible O/O and a very visible re punched date. I have been able to find evidence of four pieces. Two in the Bass sales, one cleaned VF in the Heritage archives and this EF45 CAC. If a new book on New Orleans gold were to be published or PCGS recognize this variety like the comparable 48-D/D, prices would double or triple for this coin.
