You think a coin sized chunk of chocolate would be as heavy as the same sized chunk of gold?

If truth be known, the people probably didn't have twenty five bucks on them.
• First I would want to handle it to make sure that it had the look and feel of gold, and it had the sharpness of government struck, genuine coin. That of course would require some expertise.
• Second, I be concerned that it was "hot." Receiving stolen goods is a felony.
• Third, the offer he made to follow the lady to an ATM would set off alarm bells for me. I don't want anyone over my shoulder at the ATM the few times that I use one.
• If he has a clear title to the coin, why doesn't he go into the coin shop and sell it?
In a way these stories are unusual because more often we hear stories about scammers successfully offering to pay people a reward or share the winnings if they will "invest" X dollars in a sure thing. All too often we hear that greed trumps common sense, and people get scammed.
I'd be interested to know if anyone took the offer, and he lost $1,500+ at the 2012 gold price.
