    Got a Memorable Moments card.....

Prince wins 2012 State Farm Home Run Derby.

That WAS memorable.... wasn't it ?

Can't remember who won 2011 though.. good thing Topps included this new subset...

Pretty consistently...Topps had two packs per box that had no SP, subset or insert.

Good thing these aren't aimed at kids, who used to buy a couple packs out of a box.

With, the News Flashbacks, Memorable Moments and the other subsets that occupy that spot with no "Wow" factor, the least you can do is make sure every pack has something.

Even if it's one of those subsets cards at the minimum.

    Hobby box-

    Standard distribution...a little disappointing.

Guess they all can't have red autos

I think it's been like that at least since 07 when I started buying them. Pretty sure that falls within the odds

Yeah, I'm sure your right. Just with new subset and all the different inserts, the box breakdown hasn't changed except the lack of chrome. Thought they would juice it up a bit.

Still going through to put together a set. Would like Topps to rethink the subsets, and give them more of an Archives favor.

For me, the Flashbacks (News and Baseball), Memorable Moments and Then & Now; could be put out to pasture.

They should be replaced with the cool inserts that are far to rare. Heritage's sell sheet advertises a lot of great inserts, but if you get one it's a treat. Instead of trying to create value with rarities that don't retain value, make it fun to collect.

The variations, minis, stamps, coins, stickers, etc. need to replace these subsets. I would rather put together the "black" back, stamp or "action" subset without going to E-bay and spending grand.

And even 30 New Age Performers ( 3 per box), is too many.

Out of 24 packs, 2 contain no insert; at least 10 packs contain these subsets. That is half the box that in my opinion has no appeal (especially after opening the 3rd Mary Poppins pack).

I wish the guys at Topps would think about an overhaul to the inserts, rather than just throwing more rare stuff to make the sell sheet sexy... the "Find the '52 Mantle" promotion.

Make collecting the subsets interesting and fun again, instead of the quick E-bay for profit hit.

They took the gum out of the packs...so maybe there is a shot.

And with that, this box had better than normal results...... (maybe a collation error at the production line)

    Hello,

Has anyone pulled a David Wright (#465) Venezuelan? I have yet to see the card for sale on any website. If you have one, I would definitely be interested (it will complete my Venezuelan Mets team set). Thanks.

    Hi,

FYI - There is no Venezuelan version of the David Wright card (#465). The 25 Action Variation cards were printed with Venezuelan backs and 25 of the cards from 426-500 were not printed with Venezuelan backs. The David Wright cards was one of those that was not printed with a Venezuelan back. Hope this helps.

    Regards,
    Hugh

Was #479 Ian Kinsler one of these? Also where did you find this information? So what you're saying is there are only 500 Venezuelan backed cards?

    Hugh,

Thanks so much for this information, I am sure you are correct. At least it makes me feel better after searching for this card since the release date and wondering why I never saw it listed (and I saw Wright's gold refractor numbered to 5 listed twice).

Double checked the Short Print Variation. I think this is the first SSP I found:

Scanner on the new printer isn't as good.

    Hi,

In addition to the David Wright (#465) card, the Ian Kinsler (#479) card also does not have a Venezuelan version; it is one of the 25 Standard Image cards from 426-500 excluded to make room for the 25 Action Image Variations with Venezuelan-style backs. The list of cards that do not have Venezuelan-style backs are Standard Image (i.e., non-Action Image) versions of the following:
    426-M.Cabrera, 431-H.Pence, 438-A.McCutchen, 440-B.Harper, 446-J.Reyes,
    447-F.Hernandez, 452-T.Tulowitzki, 459-Y.Cespedes, 460-R.Braun, 461-M.Scutaro,
    463-G.Stanton, 465-D.Wright, 470-A.Pujols, 472-A.Gonzalez, 476-Y.Gallardo,
    479-I.Kinsler, 483-J.Shields, 485-S.Castro, 486-D.Ortiz, 490-B.Posey,
    491-W.Y.Chen, 492-E.Hosmer, 495-S.Diamond, 496-C.Buchholz, 499-J.Montero.

Have collected what appears to be a complete set of 500-different Venezuelan-style cards of 2013 Topps Heritage; have yet to see any examples of the Standard Image versions of the 25 cards listed above. Although some players are not available with Venezuelan-style backs, the following 16 players have Venezuelan-style back cards in both the Standard and Action Image versions:
    89-J.Bautista, 90-J.Mauer, 100-R.Cano, 125-Y.Darvish, 126-C.Kimbrel, 190-D.Jeter,
    246-J.Hamilton, 250-P.Fielder, 430-M.Trout, 450-M.Kemp, 456-CC.Sabathia,
    464-R.A.Dickey, 474-W.Miley, 477-Y.Molina, 480-S.Strasburg, 484-A.Dunn.

    Hope this helps.

It still says "coming soon" on the Topps website.

Not so sure that this set will be as good as last year. The players look good but it does not look like they are limiting the set as much. Last year if i recall they had a countdown counter for the 1000 sets they made. This year it look like it will just be "limited print run" Limited to .....??????
