Yes, I am sorry to hear that he has passed on. I really enjoyed his acting.

Never made a TV show or movie I didn't like. Downloading some of his movies that I liked the most Murphy's Romance is the first on my queued list. Great One.
Yeah sad! I too loved him as an actor. Murphy's Romance was my favorite! The role Mr. Garner portrayed makes me think how the gentleman really was in real life. Well mannered, laid back and old fashion. Like in the scene with Sally Fields, when they both leave the movie theater, after seeing a horrible and gory fright movie. When both agree, " they didn't like those kind of movies!" Some other well known actors in the movie must be feeling the same as us here on this thread. He'll be missed.

As a teen kid I was always a fan of that Firebird he drove like a maniac in the Rockford Files... One of the local stations ran Maverick reruns in the afternoons back then as well. RIP

I saw Grand Prix in the theater in 1966, became a lifelong auto racing fan because of it.

I thought he had died a few years ago. Didn't realize he had still been kickin' until now.
Agreed, he was a great actor, and memorable. Reminded everybody in my family of my Uncle Logan.
Unca' Logie died a couple of years ago, which may explain why I prematurely assumed that Garner, his Hollywood alter-ego, had too.
<< <i>If he laid down those quad kings, he likely would have been shot .. that wasn't just quads it was a pair of King of Diamonds

(Found on the web....Not mine).
(Can't say much for the artistic qualities, however. Looks more like Bill Clinton.
