If I get to the show I will most likely view auction lots first. Then just walk the aisles browsing and looking for friends to say hi. First table I will sit down and talk a bit will be Gold Rush Gallery.

Where is the closest White Castle? I can't recall seeing one nearby -

Since my habit is to start at one end and walk the aisles until I've seen them all, I can't quite yet tell you. image

The convention center area is way too touristy to deserve a White Castle. Generally you have to seek out the more earthy parts of the city to find one. By earthy I mean more gritty than bohemian. White Castles are for people that collect cheap foreign coins. You can pretend they are interesting and exotic but in the end all you get is worthless gut rot.

There is some doofus on Pandora right now singing about how you should please come to Boston and it will by like all idyllic and arty.

White Castle is like this. It's a big come-on like you are going to experience something uniquely Chicago and in the end you are just throwing up over the ANA exhibits.

That reminds me, I need to put together my exhibit on coin swallowing.

Looks like the closest White Castle is in Niles at Harlem, Howard, and Milwaukee Aves, one block from Niles Coin Shop.

While you may be right as I first got exposed to them hop scotching military bases in my early adult life, I fail to see how ones pretentiousness effects the [little burgers that could] amazingness. Loose women and seedy bars also congregate in "low end ares" which happen to be some the best things in life.

White Castle - as a kid in Florida we had Royal Castle - same burgers. You could get two of them and a birch beer in an icy mug for $0.35. Now in NC we have Krystal - same burgers but someone thinks that people will pay for the nostalgia by pricing them like regular burgers - which of course they are not. They are the true definition of a slider in so many ways.

White Castle is a heart attack in waiting

Not sure about the heart attack. It just looks unappetizing -- never eaten there. If you want a heart attack in the waiting, have the Schaeuferla at Hofbrauhaus in Rosemont behind the parking garage whatever night they're serving it.

Man little tavern, that's a blast from the past. They all went away in DC around the mid 90s. Last one was in Wheaton around 2000.
