    I personally prefer option three:

Both look good, but I prefer the white background and separation between the sides. Nice looking coin!

White looks better to me on that one. Need to polish the scuffs out of the center of that slab though! image

    Option 3. Otherwise black. image

BTW that's a really nice coin. I assume the foggy area on the obverse is on the slab? You should polish that out!

Great transactions with oih82w8, JasonGaming, Moose1913.

I agree with you! Yes, they are scuffs. It should arrive in hand tomorrow or over the weekend and Ill be putting some elbow grease toward the scuffs.

I prefer the black background. The spacing on the white background is better. The reflections do nothing for the coin and eat up space.

Dark background works better for me.

My vote is for the white background that brings the eye to focus more on the coin, especially with a darker toned coin.

The darker background because the subtleties of the coin are much more appreciable.

The spacemonkey templates are trite, IMO. I prefer simple white or no background with a png format.

    The scuffs are unacceptable.

I like black with space between.
  • BoosibriBoosibri Posts: 12,432 ✭✭✭✭✭
    Darker background

I like the white better as it makes the coins almost seem like they are floating when posted on this forum.

I only use black if a coin needs a darker background to pop.

Yeah try to get a little space between the center and on the borders of you template.

In the black border example you posted Ms. Liberty looks claustrophobic image

That coin looks better against white, IMNSHO.

My eyes tend to focus on the coin more with a black background. In looking at the coin in particular, I like it, but the "cloudiness" in the center of both obverse and reverse is distracting as it gets. Is that on the plastic ? ( I presume)

Nice coin for sure, I like the white background a little better, but the black background isn't bad.

    Dark background with spacing.

Option 3.1 (shrunk to <50kb to fit CU, but idea is use the template but cut out the reflection and other empty space)

    image

Otherwise, my answer is neither black nor white, but some shade of grey.
