Eye appeal is everything. If thick toning reduces the coin's luster, it receive a lower grade than a coin with more original mint luster. Been there, done that.

<< <i>In terms of the eye appeal calculation when grading, luster is more important than toning. >>

That particular date comes nice and common even for the grade.

<< <i>Delete? Why? This is ridiculous.

The OP asked about thick toning and how it affects the grade of coins... can a coin with thick toning that obscures the luster a bit be negatively impacted gradewise by said toning? He posted a link to an NGC MS67 Washie, 1957 IIRC, with really crappy pictures that appeared to have some mottled and possibly unattractive toning, in his response to my initial post.

It's really poor form to delete your posts after the fact when it could be used as a reference by individuals searching for answers later on, rather than creating yet another thread that needs to be responded to and answered. By deleting all your posts, you're essentially saying "screw you," to everybody who responded. So thanks for that and I'll make sure I don't respond to your posts in the future. >>

I also said I was having a rough year and not to be a jack ass with the replies, then along you come obviously being a jack ass.

If you hadn't been such a jackass I may have just left it up and maybe it would have become informative to others instead of just filled with jackass comments like yours. But that's what a jack ass does, so screw you and Yes, you are a jack ass.
