Ya, 1964's were the last coins produced in silver. The 65-67 coins were known as the clad years and the silver content dropped from like 90% to 60%. By 1968, there was no silver at all in dimes, quarters, and halves. I think the 1965 coins ad a bit of a nostalgic touch to the set, not that I will ever pull one. You would hope out of all the different limited stuff, you could pull something out of 4-5 boxes.

Silver coins struck for general circulation ended in 1964 except for the Kennedy Half Dollar. The half contained 40% silver from 65-70. Other than if the coins from 65-on are of an extreme high grade or have an error on them, there value other than face value is nil. As far as the use of a 65 dime with the card, I would assume it is to designate the year of the card set that is being replicated.

Hi All, i've done a bunch of trades with many, but now i am finally posting my first trade list....please help me finish this off....and if i have anything you need, let me know, i will trade for your extra short prints, if you don't have anything else on my wantlist.
I also have thousands of sp's and inserts from every other issue of heritage in case you have holes in your older sets.
<< <i>Just ripped 2 blasters I bought on eBay. Got nothing. No borders, hits, mini's or variations. >>
SPs? Inserts? Do you think they were tampered with? I've bought some A&G blasters before at Wal Mart that someone had taken all the good cards out of (Minis, SPs, inserts) resealed and returned.
Guys lets be careful, I had a friend call me from North Carolina he picked up 5 blasters from Walmart and the only sp's in all 5 blasters were the blue ones.
So far, I haven't heard anything good about Topps Heritage retail this year. I think I'll stay clear until maybe some of you convince me otherwise with some decent pulls.

They weren't tampered with. They were wrapped in the Topps plastic wrap. No SP's or anything. Just all regular cards. It was brutal. Gotta say, I've given this stuff way too much of a chance to impress me and I'm not impressed.
I will say that Topps manned up and sent me a Jean Segura relic for the hobby box that didn't have a hit and replaced my Harvey chrome that had paper loss

I would'nt be totally discouaged yet. They may intentionally have back loaded alot of the better things, to pick up any slow early sales. The later ship dates and blasters offering up a better hit ratio. Or it may just be a bad collation. Or uneven geographical distribution. I used to think they sprinkled 25% of the good stuff early to prime the buying frenzy pump,50% during the middle distribution, and end it with the final 25% after they made their money. Better to string us along. Just my theory. If I knew that much I'd be getting all the 1 of 1's. Could be nothing more to it then bad luck of distribution. If I may suggest take a breather, wait a month, and try a different source/geographical location to buy from after you can tell if they are a fresh restock. Good luck.

I've decided I've had it with Heritage, but there's one card I want: the Bogaerts/Schoop rookie card. Chrome or Refractor is better, but basic is ok too. If anybody has one to trade, I'll send you a bunch of Heritage cards for it. Please be in touch.

What number is it? I will look see if I got it for u
I found two blasters left at my local WalMart in AZ over the weekend that someone unsuccessfully tried to hide. Blues of McCutchen & Chris Davis, 6 SPs, and a mini Miggy Bazooka. I might be hooked and searching other stores in that area soon...
<< <i>I think that is the first Bazooka sighting this year. Wonder if that subset is worth the effort. >>
Code is 7141 on those. Looks like several have sold of the Miggy in the $35-50 range. It was in the same pack as one of the WalMart blues if that helps determine collation.

Thanks, I guess they are as rare as the logo, embossed or throwback uniforms. Something for the retail chasers.
Hopefully the blasters start (or keep) producing..

over the weekend bought nine jumbo packs....only two cards that require reporting, a Posey chrome and a Kipnis chrome that was damaged. I've already packed up Jason and he is on his way to York PA....its a shame since living near Cleveland, he is actually a player who's chrome card I would keep......Posey will go on ebay eventually....also got a few of the then and nows and other inserts but these were the two nicer inserts. also no blaster boxes here yet or else someone already got them all....
<< <i>I never understood the popularity and high prices these cards bring. Isn't it simply a card without a back that Topps labels as 1/1 and sells on eBay?
Am I missing something here (other than the back of the card)?

<< <i>Here is my only 2014 Topps Heritage card. 2014 TOPPS HERITAGE CLAYTON KERSHAW 1/1 BLANK BACK - TOPPSVAULT
>>
>>
doesn't this go back to when Topps used to keep one copy of each card, front and back separately in books? thought I read somewhere about this and they eventually offered all of the old cards in their vault auctions and don't keep one copy anymore but instead just sell them.....supposedly it is the last card they have for each player??? not sure about last part but sort of makes sense.....
I seem to recall reading Topps had pasted or attached some of their vault cards into books. As for the recent ones, they make a blank back copy for every card and I think every set. I don't know if there's a reason why they do it other than to make money. It's funny though that when Panini did their orange pylon 1/1s for football and sold in online auction format, I read many people attacking them for the money grab yet Topps does it all the time. The stuff I like to see in the auctions are the actual slides or photos used in old cards or the contracts.
I have a heritage question not entirely related to 2014.
I looked through old boxes of cards I have and realized I had picked up some of these in 2001-2005. OCD being what it is, I've rapidly compiled near complete sets of 2002 and 2004 and used various eBay "pick" auctions to fill in the rest of the sets and the easier inserts.
I'd now like to start working on the entire run. 2012 features very inexpensive boxes so I started there. One hobby box, two retail 24 ct boxes. The hobby box had a buy back box topper and an Evan longoria relic.
In other years, I notice the price gap can be quite large between hobby and retail boxes. For instance for 2011 I've seen retail boxes as low as $55 while hobby are $85+.
Is there any reason I should be buying hobby boxes instead of retail? It seems like the nice hits are so far and few between that it's better to save the money and go for retail over hobby...

If you're going for just the base set 1-425 + the 75 SPs then yes I completely agree. But why not buy hobby - get the panel box toppers and trade them to me!!
I'm done this year as well unless there's reason to buy retail. From what I've heard, retail isn't that great. Paying $6.50 for a SP on an average jumbo pack isn't for me.

I traded my blue Carlos Santana, but I still have 2 SPs available if anybody's interested: #424 wheeler and #461 longoria. Thanks.

That was an odd Hobby box.... The first five or six packs contained no insert or SP. BJ Upton relic was on top.
no real surprise in the remaining packs except..., Black refractor Brandon Phillips was back to back with a chrome.
Quite a few of the other packs had an insert and an SP to keep the distribution per box in tact.

Good luck.

I think that is the first Bazooka sighting this year.

Hopefully the blasters start (or keep) producing..

doesn't this go back to when Topps used to keep one copy of each card, front and back separately in books? thought I read somewhere about this and they eventually offered all of the old cards in their vault auctions and don't keep one copy anymore but instead just sell them.....supposedly it is the last card they have for each player??? not sure about last part but sort of makes sense.....

I traded my blue Carlos Santana, but I still have 2 SPs available if anybody's interested: #424 wheeler and #461 longoria. Thanks.
