I've always admired these and finally got one.

To me these are true works of art. Talented people, those Fraser's.

It took me way to long to get one but the wait is over.

    Very nice! Congrats!!!

I have to agree with you. The Oregon commem is one of my favorite designs and looks more like sculpture to me than a coin. It's an incredible piece of work.

Great design. If I could only have one commemorative that would be it. Congrats on finally getting one!

Interesting story about them in a recent Numismatist. Worth reading.

Nice looking coin. The Oregon Trail is my favorite Classic Commemorative design, and not because I live in Oregon. I just recently completed my Oregon Trail set, only took me fifteen years to finish the set.
I collect Capped Bust series by variety in PCGS AU/MS grades.

    Nice and lustrous.

I've only ever had one of them.

And I dug it rather than bought it.

    (1926-S, AU-ish.)

I'll bet that one looks even better in hand, huh. Looks pretty flashy.

Congrats. It's a coin like that that keeps drawing me toward commems. May have to make the move.

64? wow that's a great coin in looks and design. I guess that's why PCGS doesn't recruit me, i'd give it higher than 64.

    Bottom line is cost.

I was patient, fortunate and I think a little lucky to get this one at my tight budget.

I would surely like a 67 or one of the beautiful toned ones but that's not likely to happen.

So happy to have gotten it.

    coin-gratulations!

i agree its an awesome design. White like yours is nice, but toned, the coin takes on a whole different character. Plus all dates except first year (1926) have VERY low mintages. So if you can -its nice to own more than one!
