I've always admired these and finally got one.

To me these are true works of art. Talented people, those Fraser's.
It took me way to long to get one but the wait is over.

Looking for Top Pop Mercury Dime Varieties & High Grade Mercury Dime Toners.
I have to agree with you. The Oregon commem is one of my favorite designs and looks more like sculpture to me than a coin. It's an incredible piece of work.
mines a 1935/34-S and it's one of my favs too.
I agree about the Fraser's being very talented sculptors.

Interesting story about them in a recent Numismatist. Worth reading.
Lance.
I've only ever had one of them.
And I dug it rather than bought it.
(1926-S, AU-ish.)
I'll bet that one looks even better in hand, huh. Looks pretty flashy.

Fellas, leave the tight pants to the ladies. If I can count the coins in your pockets you better use them to call a tailor. Stay thirsty my friends......

Why a long wait?

Bottom line is cost.
I was patient, fortunate and I think a little lucky to get this one at my tight budget.
I would surely like a 67 or one of the beautiful toned ones but that's not likely to happen.
So happy to have gotten it.

i agree its an awesome design. White like yours is nice, but toned, the coin takes on a whole different character. Plus all dates except first year (1926) have VERY low mintages. So if you can -its nice to own more than one!
