Be a specific as possible.

1. Numismatic themed telephone cards from the 1990s.

This is an area that was pushed heavily but just never caught on. I tried to sell mine a few years back but couldn't even get a bid.

Ha, I wouldnt think that there would be a huge market for "telephone cards." Baseball cards had enough problems keeping a collector base.

My vote would be Washington quarters. Although I find the 32-64 series appealing, I believe that they are one step above Roosevelt dimes. Boring to most.

Classic Commems, high grade Franklins, many of the 5 oz silver pucks (some dealers bought some of the early issues at over $250 per puck and had them graded for maybe $300 all in costs for the dealers), post-1970 proof and mint sets have all seen significant declines. Severe decline might be too strong a description for some of them though.

  • Hope staples get on this list sometime.

    Lincoln cent BIE "errors"

These had a shining moment in the sun a while back.

    Cull coins (holed, dateless, damaged)

Seems like you used to see a lot more ads for these in the
smaller publications back in the day.

These things have a way of coming around, though.

Well, the guy who made them said they were good copper and you could value them as you please, after all.

Birth year sets started in the 1800s. At 114+ years old, their numbers are severely declining and they are all nearly dead.

For me Mint State US Gold - CMI as of 09-27-13 is 740.53 vs 1000 (1990).

They have been severely pushed back by AGE, AGB, modern gold commems, and the surging interest in World Gold. For the most part, expensive big ticket coins that require tight margins in order to compete.

I have access to 3 pieces. one VF re-engraved, retoned and dirtified. another VF+ pleasingly corroded and quite well struck for the issue. The last, AU58.... The market preference lately has been for the neo-traditionalistic subdued crusty toning opined favorable by specialists. While some might think the toning scheme, (or lack of it) is somewhat behind the curve on market-acceptability, we find this coin (or what is left of it) a happy exception. It exhibits cameo devices and flashing reflective fields and has already been rinsed in in distilled water and acetone. It belonged to my grandfather. A perfect retail coin. This will rock some investor's socks off.

For purists, the above remedies are available to reverse this last piece's appearance and have it far excel the first of the group. The re-originalization processes are proprietary and can only be performed on a floating coin hospital out beyond the three mile limit. Wafting tropical breezes obscure the potentially sniffable tinctures inflicted upon the surfaces, and the corrosion makes the coin look good as new. This service is available with a de-conservation fee of based on 24.99 % of value. Frequent flier miles earned are redeemable when used on other planchets.

    VF repaired. . . . . POR
    VF+ ED. . . . . . . .POR
    AU58. . . . . . . . . POR

All enquiries will be held in confidence and should be made via PM and conform to NSA protocols.

Offers for the group will be considered. With this number of coins you'll be able to move the market. In one direction or another. imageimageimage

Modern Proof sets. If you take the usual 10 to 20 % discount off the Gray Sheet bids, you are not that much over the face value for these things, and I do not see any scenarios in which the prices will recover.
