1969 Mays and Seaver each have over 1600 without a 10. Not that it fits your question, but the 69 Jackson and 69 (yellow) Mantle each have well over 4000 subs with only a single 10. Must be something tough about that year.

I believe there are a lot of O/C cards from '69.

Wow your're right about the 1960 Topps - that is one tough set to crack a 10.I did the numbers on the 10 cards of Ystrzemski ,Mays ,Musial,Aaron,McCovey,Kaufax,Mantle,Banks, B. Robinson and Clemente. These cards accounted for over 25,000 subs. And guess how many 10's ?? A grand total of 4 !! That is absolutely incredible .The Mantle has over 4700 subs alone with zero 10's.
I was thinking about this and wondered if any of these now have a pop 10. A quick look and see that the 1978 Nolan Ryan is now a pop 2. One that directly affects me is the 1990 Topps Tiffany Greg Maddux. While there are not many submitted, which I believe that there are not many worthy as every one I have seen is greatly off center, I don't think there will ever be a PSA 10.

It's crazy right. Could put a man on the moon but could not cut a card straight.
I've graded thousands of women (not sampled them all) and don't know if I've actually come across a 10. Many 9's and 9's with qualifiers especially, but 10's are extremely hard to come by!

Lol, traveled that road more than once. But I am with the last one I married, been together 19 years minus a 2 year break. Just to clarify, women can say the same about men, just with probably fewer 9's!

Sure, I think I have a picture of it at home. I sold it the second I got it... about 4 years ago for $11,000. It has since sold for $18,600. Guess I should have waited. I'll post a picture if I can when I get home.
It's interesting to note, at least to me, that so many cards can be graded a 9 and have no 10's of a particular card. Being that over the years many here, and elsewhere, have noted they cannot tell the difference between a 9 and 10. Unless that observation only applies to the modern era group of cards. Furthermore, I wonder how many times those vintage 9's have been re-subbed in hopes of achieving the mystical 10 designation.

+agree. Do the graders know the POP report when they grade? Seems like that would be a bit much for them to do after long hours staring into microscopes. Conversely, using some examples from above, seems unimaginable that over 1,000 cards can be a 9, and only (2) are a 10. If you lined up those 1,002 cards, could we find the 10's?

Great point. A 10 can look like a 9 and a 9 can look like a 10. Would be interesting to see if a grader could spot the 10s out of a large group of 9s.

My guess is that it might be the 1976 Topps George Brett with 1,336 subs, 0 10's and only 11 9's...6 months ago it was the Nolan Ryan rookie

1963 Topps #173 Bomber's Best (Mantle,Tresh,Richardson) has over 2,800 subs with no 10's
I originally said this 5 years ago. Now it's at 4,534 cards and still no 10s.
Assuming we don't eliminate the 71T set then the 71T Nolan Ryan ranks up there pretty high. 3,783 subs and no PSA 10's.
