I'd say Griffey Jr. over The Strawman's .... just because he connected more often.

Growing up in the San Francisco Bay Area it was and is Will Clark for me. He was my childhood sports hero. Wore 22 on all my baseball and basketball teams after him. He had an underrated caree. He had really great numbers to start his career but tailed off and didn't finish strong enough to be more than a fringe HOF candidate. Too bad, he's one I think who played without steroids and losers like Rafael Palmeiro who couldn't hold his jock in college or to begin their MLB careers blew by him later in their careers in HR and RBI's because they were juicing and he (probably) wasn't. Finished his career at age 36 batting .319 in his final season. He batted .300 or better 10 out of 15 seasons and his career postseason numbers were .333/.409/547 in 7 career postseason series including one NLCS MVP.

Being from Seattle I'm a little bias, but Ken Griffey Jr. had the sweetest swing I ever saw.

As far as sweetest looking swing, I would say Ken Griffey Jr. I also liked Darryl Stawberry. What about Julio Franco that swing of his keep him in the league untill he was an old man. Those were always my favorites. Oh yeah can't forget good old Bo Jackson.

+2 for Griffey. I thought he had the sweetest swing before he came to the Reds. Just looked so smooth and easy.

I'm not very knowledgable about baseball but id say Griffey jr.
I also really like the stance of Rickey Henderson, especially on his rookie card. Gotta be one of the coolest stances on a card!

Can't argue about strawberry or Griffey. Bonds version 1.0 (pre-PED pirates) looked sweet too.

I looked at Teddy Ballgame's swing again just to make sure, and feel embarrassed that I had to take a second look to make sure.

Ken Griffey Jr. Hands down. Sweetest swing.

    The Splendid Splinter.
"My father would womanize, he would drink. He would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark. Sometimes he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy. The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament. Our childhood was typical. Summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring we'd make meat helmets. When we were insolent we were placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds - pretty standard really."

I agree 100% on the Strawberry pick. As soon as I ready the Title Strawberry was my answer. I grew up being a huge Strawaberry fan and am a life long Mets fan so I will throw that out their, but even if I wasn't Darryl is the pick.

You guys must be young 'uns.

Definitely agree with Griffey and Strawberry in terms of sweetness. But you're leaving out some great older hitters:

Hank Aaron's swing was effortless. He'd wiggle that bat and then bring the barrel through like a lightning bolt. Perfect balance.

Will Clark gets my vote as well. I just loved watching him hit

Don Mattingly (Loved that crouch and then straightens up and releases)

I was going to say Mattingly myself, the 83-89 crouch-attack swing. That was lethal until the back really gave out in the Summer of '90. From then on he constantly tinkered with it.
Also thought George Brett could really stroke it.

I feel like it was while watching a Tigers game a few years ago they were talking about sweetest swings, and the announcer mentioned that it was always the lefties with the best looking. It seems like 90% of the responses thus far have been left handed hitters.

On topic: KGJr. I was going to say Adam Dunn, because I've never seen someone swat at air with more power in my life.
  • Options
I agree with that for sure...so many pretty lefty swings that I can think of in my time watching baseball...Brett, Will Clark, Strawberry, Griffey, Carlos Guillen from the left side, Cargo, Robinson Cano...the only righty I remember looking pretty was Edgar Martinez.
