I subscribe to a weekly antique newspaper. This week contained an article about Topps. The article's primary focus was on the

the 2013 Topps cards, and how Pete Rose's name was completely omitted on any of the cards. A couple of interesting facts

at the end of the article:When Topps started issuing cards in 1951, the packs had caramel candy instead of gum to avoid a

legal mess with Bowman, which I was unaware of; But the most staggering-- Topps yearly revenues are more than $10 Billion.

Not a typo-- 10 billion per year-- that would buy a lot of cannolis. Craig in Ohio

I've been through maybe 12 blasters from Target over the last weeks and today I finally hit something good. Harmon Killebrew relic topps coin 2/6. Very surprised when I saw because I've pulled next to nothing in all my blasters. Just had to share.

ripped 2 more boxes this weekend. Are chromes really that hard to pull? One box and had none and the other one refractor and one regular. I've hardly pulled any at all this year.

Zep Chromes are super tough this year, I also think topps messed up the odds on them, seems like they were front loaded in retail. Nice pull on the Verlander.

I still have my 2013 Heritage Hobby Case, I have been on the road so much that I ended up buying blasters and a few hobby boxes when I would find a card shop. I'm disappointed on the high number and chrome distribution, so have sort of shelved the whole set building for now. I still need 35 SP's for my first set. Does anyone have SP's to sell? Seems like there are way to many subsets, SSP's, and oddball stuff.

Looks like I have to contact Topps support.

    I opened three hobby boxes.

First one had neither the relic or auto.
Third one had the Berra '64 Mint Dime (which was so thick the rest of pack consisted of two commons)

But no relic or auto in the box ?

Does the 64 Mint card count as the box hit? I thought in previous years it was an "addition to"...not "in place of"...

    I'm not sure though....

Tough break on the first two boxes, hopefully some of the other boxes in the case are double loaded. I believe that they coin counts as a hit. Good Luck with the rest!

nice - that a gold refractor?

btw, photobucket is still screwed up so when you copy your IMG code, it also grabs the URL code and pastes both of them. You can fix that by deleting anything outside the IMG box - before and after - just make sure you leave the brackets there that surround IMG

edit - see you already figured that out image

My images still need some work. I tried a camera shot rather than a scan. May need to dust off the scanner for better resolution.

Thanks to Parker and Zep for the help with the basics.

Still working on the finer points, but I wanted to test it out. Thanks for all the information.

    Gold refractor (1/5)

    64 Mint (1/10)

I'm getting ready to email Topps support for two boxes that didn't have the relic or auto.
