Here are two different PCGS graded Vermont Ryder 2s....???

    I'm not sure. Maybe it's to really look at the COIN in the holder instead of the assigned grade.

    Net graded OGH taught me that expensive lesson early in my collecting days. New collectors should consider using someone like MF to preview coins or stick to CAC.

    For what it's worth this Vermont cent is graded EF-40.

    Many of these coin are very crude. Therefore grading them is controversal.
    Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?

    No, I'M NotSure!

    After following your Vermont 'journey', Ambro, I've seen you just grab this series by the horns. You know your stuff on Vermonts, so I have to ask, why do YOU think the coin is graded where it is?? What do you think it's grade should be? Also, are those 'spots', on both the obv and rev, PVC or corrosion?


    Care to share your thoughts as to how wildly differing coins grade the same, Ambro? I just don't see how the coin you show, Ambro, grades XF40, after comparing it to BillJones'....they are miles apart.
    I'll come up with something.
