  • Hi Russ

Wow...I still remember the"quest" for the ultimate example of this variety very clearly.
You are probably the driving force behind its popularity. The pictures you took and posted "back in the day"
were also instrumental in making pics such an intregal part of the hobby.

Any idea how many 64 proof sets you looked through over the years?

    Nice to see you post!

Good for your customer. They should flip it and make a nice, fat profit.

Still love a DCAM 1964 Kennedy Proof, especially the AH variety.

Too bad the link auction of the PF68 DCAM example is not going across the auction block at the same time a 1956 Type 1 PF68 DCAM Franklin (is there one in that grade?) is auctioned. It would be nice to see how each variety does compared to each other [it would also be a hoot to see the 1964 DCAM AH half cross the block at the same time a 1961 DDR DCAM half is auctioned but that will not happen cuz no such coin has been slabbed in DCAM yet].

I think that's the same consignor.

Elite Cameo is the consignor? I have not looked recently but recall that EC had/has the #1 registry set of 1950-1964 proof sets (including varieties).
  • It is appropriate that if you do a Google search on 1964 Accented Hair*

you end up at good old www.ipotad.com..

Personally, I don't think it'll come close to those marks Russ.
I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.

I will be at this auction.
I have been looking for a true high grade example for years.
I for one will bid accordingly.
A high quality variety like this is difficult to locate.
