Couldn't choose a single coin. Near the top of the short list would be a Pan-Pac octagonal $50, though. I know the round is worth a little more, but I like the octagonal better. In fact, that would probably still be my favorite U.S. coin design even if it were a silver coin worth five bucks. The fact that it's a huge gold coin does nothing much to sway me; I like it strictly for the design.

I'd settle for a legitimate (and legal-to-own) 1964-D Peace dollar - how 'bout in MS-66 as long as we're wishing. I could go for a Peace dollar in MS68 too. Chance of owning either is roughly equal.

I'll take the (presently hypothetical) 1870-s quarter that I suspect was liberated from the cornerstone of the SF mint at some point. Y'all let me know when it turns up in a dealer's junk box like the 1870-s half dime (if you believe that sort of story).
TDN used to own an 1814 Plain 4 Classic Large Cent which I unfortunately, was not able to buy from him. It had even, glistening brown color on both obverse and reverse. The planchet was solid, which is rare for this series. The coin only had one hit in the lt. obverse field, which was noticeable, but not annoying. The coin was in a PC 4 BN OGH (I'm sure it has been stickered by now). The coin is nice for the grade, but not a shot coin.
It is the only "all there" Classic in this grade I have seen. I've seen one in 5, but didn't pay much attention to it, because I could never afford one like that.
