Already have #1 in higher, don't collect Mercs, so I'd take the 92-CC as it would be an upgrade to my AU58...

Most collectors cut there teeth on the Wheat Cent folders/albums. The 1955/55 Dbl die is a highly popular, rare error variety to collect.
Mercury Dimes are very popular Date/MM collectibles and the '16-D is the rarest and again very popular among collectors.
As for the 92-CC, I've been assembling a collection of MS-63/64 Morgans in PCGS plastic so this is a no-brainer for me.

For those who feigned "no interest" howzabout expounding on why you don't like these?

If the '92 CC had a gold bean on it, or at least looked like it was under-graded, I'd choose that one if I was forced too, but none of them really ring my chime.

Just don't care for Lincolns or Morgans so I'd go for the merc. It'd be nice to have one but I'll never be motivated to buy one.

Certainly, all of the coins are interesting in their own right. However, if forced to choose from a list, none of the items you mentioned are as interesting to me as a twenty cent, bust or seated half dollar, half dime, or other 1800's type coin.

No right or wrong, just a matter of each collector's preference.

A '16-D Merc in solid F12 would be nice. I've never owned a 1916-D dime and a strong F12 sounds very appealing to me.

I chose the Morgan because it has the highest grade. I prefer coins with superb eye appeal and very few circulated coins can do it for me, sadly. I say sadly because when I was a young boy and first began collecting I would easily fall in love with a VG or even G if the type was identified easily. But recent years have got me buying 60 or better.

I want the 55 DDO in 55. And it has to look like a 58. It's for my 58th b/day in a few weeks. 1955 was a fabulous year. That's when I got here and it's one of my "dream coins". It's even within reach now. How many of us give up our wants for "the majority" ? If you're from a large family , you know where I'm coming from.

To what "feigning" are you refering?

1. I refuse (yes, even back when "cutting my teeth" as a new collector) to collect ANYTHING which honors the man who is almost single-handedly responsible for the destruction of the US Constitution so no '55 doubled die for me.
2. I have no burning desire to put together a set of Mercs in any condition where an F-12 '16-D wouldn't stick out like a herpes sore on a hooker's mouth.
3. IMO, the Morgan dollar is the ugliest regular issue silver coin design in the history of the US mint. I have no interest in ever filling that hole in my US type set.

I'm in the voted no group. And yes, some folks cut their teeth on those, me included. I don't eat a jar of applesauce for dinner anymore. I now prefer pre-1836 coinage.

I own a '55 DD in the exact grade in the poll, graded by our hosts, and love it's 'chocolatey lusciousness'. I'd love to get one in MS RD someday.

Though, I WILL say, I wish I could afford to be in the 'not interested' crowd. (This is not a not a knock, believe me, as some of the stuff you guys show, especially Broadstruck, and, let us not forget the gorgeous crusty gold RYK graces us with, and in some cases, the sellers on the BST, boy, you guys have nice stuff, and alot of it DOES make these coins pale in comparison (Morgans are not my specialty, so, I can only gauge it by it's general popularity, rarty, etc...).

Then again, there are tons (well, not literally, but you know what I mean) of the '55 DD, and even more '16-D Mercs, out there in all grades in circulated condition, not sure about the Morgan, so I can see why there are those who would say 'no' to all, in the specified grades.

The 55 DDO has always been super cool in my book and a dream coin since I was a kid.
Being that's my birth year adds fuel to the fire.
I'm seriously selling off some more common materials so that I might just acquire one this year.
Partially inspired by the stunning sight of The Penny Lady's gorgeous example.
It's such a dramatic DDO that it's a must for my collection at some point.
