Here's Todd's photo of my new 1955/55 DDO from FUN!

I have received a few pm's from forum members wanting to pry this beauty out of my hands, but let me just say, I absolutely LOVE this coin! I'm sure all you collectors understand how a special coin can tug at your heart and make you feel giddy to have such a piece in your own collection - and that is what this coin does for me. The 1955/55 is my favorite Lincoln cent, and I am so fortunate to have found this little guy that fits so perfectly into my set!

What a beaut!
Too many positive BST transactions with too many members to list.
I will use your coin and a few others to emulate in my search for a nice 1955 DDO. It's my birth year, so the 1955 DDO is a perfect addition to my "sub-collections." As you may know, my core collecting interest is Dahlonega gold coins.

Here's what I said about the example in my old MS Lincoln set, that could just as easily apply to yours:
<< <i>Mesmerizing! Self Contradictory. Outstanding Eye Appeal with Crystal Clear surfaces and devices that fool the eye by being surrounded with an incongruously doubled date and motto. Fascinating! >>
When I sold mine for what seemed like a nice tidy profit back in 2008, for what may still be a record price for a 64RD, I never imagined the hole it would leave behind.
Congrats, Charmy!

Many members on this forum that now it cannot fit in my signature. Please ask for entire list.

One day I hope to have a 1955 DDO Lincoln in my collection.
I know you are seriously into copper, but you should consider picking up a 1961 DDR proof Franklin half dollar. Its doubling is very pronounced, similar to that of your cent. Like the 1955 DDO cent the doubling on the Franklin is apparent from looking at the coin without a loupe. The 1955 DDO cent and the 1961 DDR half make great bookend coins. Many would claim that these two coins are the most dramatic examples doubled die coins in the Modern Era. Unlike the far more numerous 1955 DDO cent, the 1961 DDR half has a very small population with less than 175 slabbed.
