Holey coin giveaway- this was the very first one I put on my Holey Coin Vest! (WINNER: "Justloo

DONE! "Justlooking" won!
This 1894 Swiss 5-rappen is of very modest value- in fact, it wasn't really worth the 99-cent start price I've started most of the others out at on eBay. As you may have read, I am disassembling my famous "Holey Coin Vest". It's just a major downsizing, really- I'll still be keeping my Holey Gold Hat.
But anyway, this humble little coin was the very first holey in my holey collection, so it's kind of special. I picked it up at a Raleigh, NC coin show in 2000.
There is no real reason for me to keep it, though. I have enough sentimental pieces already.
I'd rather pass it along to one of you. You can carry it on your keychain, to bring you luck and prosperity in the new year.

Just post once to enter, and by all means, click the link in my sig line if you're interested in picking up another nice holey or two.
(Holes notwithstanding, I have some nice stuff listed, and it's all starting cheap. There are a couple of nonholed pieces, too.)

Of the ones you are currently selling, this may be my favorite:
The RedBook lists a 'Huge O' variety.....wonder if this is what they mean?

Funny you should mention that, since I was just noticing how the person who drilled the Swiss giveaway piece had the good aim and foresight to put the hole through the Last "O" in "CONFOEDERATIO." I always preferred my holeys with tidy, well-placed holes. Not all of them I had were that way, of course, but every hole has its own character.

There are no coins on it anymore, except for the six buttons. (These will need to be sewn back on, as I removed them when I had the pictures made.)
But that giveaway comes with one small string attached- you must agree to build your own wearable holey coin collection, whether you use my actual vest or not.
The vest is 3XL, I think, so if you're small or skinny, it might swallow you. It still has the beads and fishing swivels attached on the front, which will reduce the amount of sewing you have to do. (Though like I said, you will need to reattach the buttons.) The back of the vest had a nearly-complete date set of large cents I sold last year. Those were sewn on directly, without swivels, so there might be some picks in the material where those coins had been.
Here is the vest, as featured on the late, great Carl Wohlforth's site. (God bless him and may he rest in peace- I miss him).
Here are the buttons for the vest. If I get time, I might sew them back on for whoever decides to take on the project. Or you may buy your own vest or jacket and fishing swivels, beads, etc. But if I give these buttons away, you must promise to USE them on your own wearable coin garment! (They should all work on a garment with regular blazer-sized buttonholes.)
Thanks

I bought a holed 20 cent piece a few months ago for $10. May start a collection myself now.
My holey 20c is already up to $18.94, halfway through a ten-day auction, with 308 page views, 10 bids, and 10 watchers. Should be interesting.
What's yours look like? Is it an 1875-S, like most of 'em out there?

PS- as you can see by mine, which savoyspecial posted above, your 1854 quarter is nicer. But mine has a better hole position.

<< <i>Thanks again for the chance, Lord Marcovan. Just out of curiosity, when do you plan on ending the giveaway? >>
Hi Dolan and welcome to the forum. You are new so you are excused for not knowing that all Darkside giveaways taking place in a certain calendar year, end up on the first of January of the next year, ie in this case 01/01/2014.

The garrulous Greek is pulling your leg, of course.
I'll end it soon. If I fail to do a drawing by Friday, somebody poke me. I'll draw a winner before the weekend is out.
The winner has the option of also receiving the buttons from the Holey Coin Vest (and the now-empty vest itself, if they want it), but only if they intend to make their own holey coin garment.

I did the random number pull.
And the winner is... Justlooking!
Who will also get a shot at the holey buttons, but if he doesn't want to make a holey coin garment, those will go to someone else.
But be sure to join my Roman coin giveaway if you haven't already. I'll draw that winner (well, those three winners) later today, most likely.
