The world's largest silver nugget (1840 lbs) was found in 1894 near Aspen, CO.

    WOW!!! Wonder how it ended up there on the side of that mountain. Imagine them guys back then making a trek up that mountain and then one of them got tired and said let me rest up for a while and have a drink of water from my metal canteen. Then after taking a gulp of water he accidentally drops that metal canteen on that what he thought was a rock he was sitting on and Hear that familiar Cling....then he stands up from where he was sitting at and say Holy Guacamole!!! This is not what i think it is.... image

    That is a chunk of Galena.

    If you scroll down, the largest silver nugget had to be broken into three pieces to be gotten out of the mine.
