boo boo and her family are entertaining. Entertainment is what I look for when I flip the channels. I consider them highly successful at entertaining others. Glad to have her as a YN.

Entertainment? Really? More like a cash cow for Hollywood producers whose mission in life is more money. Sad.
<< <i>Honey Boo Boo and her family aren't smart enough to know the whole world is laughing at their family and more importantly their daughter, maybe they are but are still willing to pimp her out for the semblance of riches. Accumulation of money is not an indication of intelligence nor is it necessarily a barometer of success. I guess we just have different values and ideas about what we would subject our wife and daughters to for a couple of dollars. If my wife had neck cheese, I would get her professional help, not a TV show where she could embarrass the family for generations playing a stereotypical fat, stupid southern house wife to be mocked by the coasts all the while parading the daughter around as part of the farce. But hey that's just me, you keep on keeping on with what floats your boat buddy. >>
Blah blahbeddy blah. They're doing what they want to do, and enjoying it, and you're coming off like some bitter old man whose only jollies come from shaking his fist at the kids these days. Who are you to pass judgment on them?
Me at the Springfield coin show: 60 years into this hobby and I'm still working on my Lincoln set!

Many child entertainers through the years were entertaining. Many also related, as adults, how horribly their lives were destroyed by Hollywood, demanding agents, demanding parents and demanding fans. How they were exploited by a system that worships ratings at any cost. How they wound up ensnared in alcoholism and drug abuse to escape, to ease their pain. How some of them didn't escape addiction and died. I would just hope that this little girl doesn't fall prey to all the traps visited upon many of those who came before her. I would hope that, perhaps the system is better now...more protective of the precious little ones. But hey, as long as America's entertained when they "flip the channels".

<< <i>$1m at 7 years old, even if the parents took half for "expenses", is still more than enough to set you up for life if used properly. $500k at 5% annualized return would be $855k at 18 years old. That's enough to live a lavish life at an ivy league school and get a top notch education including a masters. If she doesn't go to school and just starts working, that $500k would be over $4m at 50 years old. Compound interest, my friends, compound interest... >>
Love to get a SAFE 5%. Unfortunately 30 year Bond is at 2.73%. Any power co stocks value is of course subject to fluctuation.

Good job illini420, a YN HBB doesn't hurt, it helps.

Yes, adult cartoons can be entertaining.
I'm looking forward to the Honey Boo Boo autographed slabs of the Georgia state quarter.
