There's No Debate About It: Post a Coin from 1860!

In the last couple of days, the news has been consumed with accounts of Wednesday night's Presidential Debate. The first such debate occurred in 1860, between Abraham Lincoln and Stephen Douglas. Post a coin from 1860, that very pivotal year in American History. Here is my contribution, which is a fairly recent purchase.

(Just think of city streets clogged with a hundred thousand horses each generating 15 lbs of manure every day...)
Nice coins anyway!
And I didn't know this until doing a little research: The first general election presidential debate was the Kennedy-Nixon debate in 1960. Wonder why it took so long?

<< <i>Sorry, you history is a bit off. The Lincoln - Douglas debates were held in 1858, and they were contesting for a Senate seat. Nevertheless here is the best 1860 dated coin I own.
Lincoln and Douglas also debated in 1860, as presidential candidates. I am correct in that the first presidential debate occurred in 1860. I didn't address senatorial debates at all.
BTW, that's a very nice 1860-D half eagle!
