Back in 1979 I put together a set of Two Cent pieces in EF or better except for either variety of the 1873. All of the coins had to have a strong "WE" in the motto, or I was not interested. I sold all but two of them (the 1864 Small Motto and an 1870) when the market collapsed, and I could start colecting again.
The set is harder to do than you might think. The 1872 is a really tough one.
Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?
