So with low 70 pops being reported due to quality of the strike, is anybody making crazy money flipping these sets based on costs of the set and the grading and shipping fees?
Just wondering, I opted out of buying this set because the cost of the set, the grading + shipping fees, thinking the costs would be a showstopper based on flip return.
<< <i>Ok got a note telling me they would accept the shrink wrap on the CC sets, and he also said this..............(In order to submit the 75th Anniversay coins to get the "set" designation, the coins must be together. If they're not together only the reverse proof coin will say "75th Anniversary"..............So that clears that up too...........Good luck all on your grades.............. >>
Huh? Am I missing something? What's up with the 75th Anniversary designation?

Will the C&C label 70 First Strikes be significantly scarcer than the ones from the 2-coin set? They began shipping later, and thus have a smaller window for First Strikes. Also, they seem to be less popular than the 2-coin sets, so probably fewer C&C sets are out there at the moment.
It seems to me they have a potential for a higher premium, similar to the premium for the 2006-W burnished Silver Eagle from the 2-coin gold and silver set of that year.
<< <i>and then a 29% chance you will get a 70 set ...it was MUCH easier to pay ST $239 for some already graded 70 sets....well worth the $4 >>

not available at anywhere near that number now. In fact, been out of stock at ST, last price was 289.95. If they ever stock again, expect high 300's or low 400's.
Doesn't NGC update their pop's on Monday? I think their #'s will be surprising also at around 50 to 55% theirs alot of 69's running around on ebay and the big silver sites! They look like they graded at least 5,000 to 7,000 sets already I would think.
I don't get it. The only thing I can think of is the two companies are so far from each other. If NGC is kicking out 70% 70's they might want to get their #'s more in line.
Not sure where you are getting a 70% grade through at NGC since no numbers are posted. Looking at the big dealers on ebay there certainly aren't 2 sets of 70s listed for every set of 69. 37% of the coins I sent to NGC came back as 70s(5 sets). edited post
Based on PCGS Pops for 8/26/12, 2012 Rev Proof 70s are running 35% of all graded and the "S" Pf 70s are running 34% of all Reg. 2012 S PFs graded. Comments.....
Good, that should drop when people start submitting unopened boxes. I only collect 70's, because of the grade/spot guarantee. When 50% are 70's, they're not as special.
Ok -- I'm pretty discouraged w/ our host services. Out of 11 sf's submitted (cherried) ALL came back 69's, 1 68. Most of them looked near perfect sans frost breaks. My luck has been horrible w/submissions. Have one more order pending, may give up after that.

<< <i>With shipping and grading fees, the flipper has about $200 in each set, which means ~225 to break even on eBay. >>
More if they want the FS designation
grading fee...$28.00
FS $36.00
Fee 8.00
Return s&h $11.00
Postage to PCGS???
Adds up to abut $235+ per set.

11 out of the last 150 coins (both types) were graded PR70. That's 7.3%.
