I'm amazed!! One post....first post....big winner!!! Doesn't seem right to me......I apologize in advance if all is on the up and up! >>
There were 100 newbie guesses - and a logical range for the coin of $2M hammer to $4M hammer - odds were that at least one would nail it. Frankly, I'm surprised that there weren't multiple correct guesses as the real sweet spot was $2.2-2.8M hammer.
Sour grapes, guys. Be classy! Someone was bound to nail the final price - it was exactly in the expected range on the exact increment expected. Not very tough with 1,000 guesses.

<< <i>Congrats to the noob on the big win!!!! I'm surprised it didn't even meet the price it sold for back in 2005 of $2.99 million... oh well!
I demand that the noob at least makes a couple of more posts though bragging about how cool it is to win a $20 Saint in MS65 >>
No surprise. Many good and even great coins have fallen back to 2004-2005 price levels over the past couple of years. Doesn't sound like the market was convinced this coin was truly worthy of 69 money. Does seem ironic that a more seasoned member didn't win the contest.

Well, now - if I had guessed Legend's max bid on the coin I'd have nailed it but no sense in giving away that bid of info before the sale now is there - better to lowball it like I did.
For he has heightened awareness of the coin collecting bug and scholarship and, too, its commercial aspects as art, investment and "store of value" with a dramatic attention-grabbing example. And done it with flare. Given us some cool fun. Perhaps even potentiated Stewart's Zen/Socratic insights going viral.

Deadline was last night at 5pm.
I joined the army 'cause my father and my brother were in the army. I thought I'd better join before I got drafted.

A better game would be guess the price of the ms 65 Saint.
