1873-CC Half Dollar - Real or Fake?

Hi folks,

I came across this 1873-CC Half on ebay - It looks weird to me and seems to be a possible counterfeit. What do you all think?

Quite the contrast of strike from obverse compared to reverse. Interestingly enough. Same seller has another 73 cc, w arrows also listed. The new one looks worse!

I'm sure someone thinks they got a great deal!

I can presume by the aforementioned comments that is not the real deal.

Fake. The mint mark looks to be too big, even for the "large mint mark" variety. Usually the "CC" is very small. It is also heavily cleaned which is often the way these crooks use to scrape off raised areas and such.

Note: Seller has a history of cancelling auctions if the selling price does not go their way...bet they didn't cancel this one!
