Thanks................ I bought this piece already toned in a PCGS holder for a few dollars over melt. Sent it in to be TrueViewed last year. Phil's photo accurately portrays the color in hand. PF69DCAM

A recent pickup. Love the symbolism’s. And IMO the only Grover Cleveland political that looks good to me.

    "Good For A Scent"/Sam's Inn PCGS AU53

This is an interesting piece. It's a Civil War token relisted in the 3rd edition of the Storecard book as "Location unknown." Used to be attributed to Boston, MA because of the "Good For a Scent" obverse die by Joseph Merriam. Researchers over the years have only that to connect it to Boston, as there was no Sam's Inn listed in the wartime directories. So it is possible that this token is from another location, or that it was muled with Merriam's die post-war. Most likely, it is both of these things. In any case, it is incredibly rare. I believe this is the finest of the very few survivors.

That one is much nicer than the one I had years ago. B)

In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?
