$21 trillion? Well Black Ops that have never been accounted for in any budget, anywhere could and likely did cost several trillion USD over the last two decades. The Pentagon's published budgets always look low to me as well but $21 trillion? Even my jaded mind has trouble believing there's that much money under the table.

Suffice to say our National Debt is greater than publicly released figures. Where it really lies we'll never know.

So the national debt is double what's 'reported', at minimum? That's my take on the numbers.

if this really happened, gold and silver prices would be going through the roof right now, the last time I checked, gold is down 27 dollars today, silver is down 36 cents

I strongly doubt the information posted by this comedian. 21 trillion is the published figure of the national debt....the military budget is no where near this, ergo they could not have access to such funding without congressional approval. They cannot spend money they do not have. Cheers, RickO

With the amount missing being the same as the entire national debt it was obviously a spoof.

Worry is the interest you pay on a debt you may not owe.

Its not obvious to me. The 21 trillion isn't per year , it was a 20 year period , who says 21 trillion is the actual national debt anyway? As if the government that can't even audit military spending could somehow be trusted to tally its spending in all the other areas .

The pentagon has refused to be audited forever , now there is an attempt underway but it will only get at little piece of the truth. How is it even possible to refuse an audit by the way? who do these losers think they are anyway? They haven't won a war in 70 odd years , seeing as how that is their only job there should be non stop audits and mass firings until the staff there and the budget go to zero dollars

I disagree that our military are "losers". Also the politicians won't let our military win any wars. Also, if there hasn't been any audits where did the $21 Trillion missing number come from? One last question---why are conspiracy theorists so gullible?

the military people that serve aren't losers , the leadership , (mainly political true ) is corrupted garbage. We are at war everywhere all the time and the goal is not to win . Our soldiers are killed and maimed every day all over the world in countries that aren't threatening us.

If you think the article is real, then where is the money? That number is 3.5x the value of all US commercial real estate-which includes everything from the Empire state building to your dentists office.

Why do you say that? Its fiat money and not even paper currency at that but digital dollars that appear with the press of a key. The mechanism for creation of dollars was intended to allow for off book expenditures from the start. We went off of real money because the government did not want to live with any restraint.

Every year the government spends billions more than it takes in tax revenues "on the books" , why is it hard to believe they spend additional money without telling us? The money they spend isn't currency its just ledger entries in a computer .

Think of it as working under the table , everyone here has done that, why is it hard to believe the government does it as well?

Sure the can, they can just create more right out of thin air. Why even bother printing the paper anymore? Just put it in them little fancy digital 1's and 0's computer coin things. The sheep sure do love it.

Nothing would replace the dollar as the world reserve currency, so long as the U.S. didn't exploit their position too extensively to wield unilateral power.

If the world comes to perceive that's what we're about, then there will be sufficient motivation to come up with something new. And the world will.
