Best of luck with this endeavor... There is just not enough information to help you make any decision. Proceed carefully since, based on many of your previous posts, you seem to be new to numismatics. Good luck, Cheers, RickO
I'd offer the seller a penny for the first coin, two for the second, four for the third, and you just keep doubling up to the 185; problem solved and both you and are happy.

Not the ones bought sight unseen IMO.
Not knowning who graded them melt would be a start point on pricing.
I don't care who graded the dollars, I will pay melt on as many as you have, all day and night long.
Let get an order in from Ali Babba then I can take you up on that offer.
If you've got fake coins in fake holders, then paying melt (when they may not even be silver) is foolish. If you are talking real coins in real holders, paying melt is criminal.

I bet everyone who told me not to purchase these because I asked if coins in the old holders usually upgrade are ALL DEALERS trying to keep people like me from taking the chance away from them. I Purchased raw coins from this man before. He inherited everything and knows nothing. I’m not getting ripped off for sure but I understand that I have to be cautious. I’m excited to show you what I get, I have a great feeling about this one. I admit the chances of this working out are slim but when dealing with the client I’m getting them from... it should be a score.
A few responses were a bit harsh, BUT honestly consider the question you asked. There is NO right answer. Are they common dates, rare dates, uncirculated type, circulated, details grades, major TPG, minor TPG....? Do "old holders" upgrade? Sometimes. Sometimes not, even if they are PCGS and NGC. Coins have a tendency to find their way to the max grade.
You want a serious answer. Buy a new greysheet for $35, pay 10% back of blue and you are safe [if NGC and PCGS]. If ANACS, discount 30% back of blue. If PCI or similar, learn to grade and buy them as if raw.

Considering one of the coins in the raw batch I bought came out graded best known WORLD WIDE. I’m excited to see what was actually graded

...sounds good but the contingencies of “melt” may run you into some trouble, as most ali babba coins catch fire and smoke out before they have an opportunity to melt.
Hey , just checked out the coins. They ended up being all ms-64 Morgan’s purchased off of an infomercial in 2013. He payed $117 each. I’m not offering him anything as it’s clear he payed nearly double what they are worth. He was just another sucker to those experienced tv salesmen.
They are rare beyond all comprehension.
Pay no attention to the buckets of them being offered. You KNOW they are from the COWBOY days and are irreplaceable mementos of true history and beauty.

Ouch, $117 ea. for common MS64 Morgans. That sort of markup by a large company who knows better is just criminal.
At 185 pcs. that's almost $21,000 for those who don't feel like calculating.
So have you seen the coins? Lets start there. Are they real? Who graded them and when? Are there any better dates? What are the grades? Why are they selling?........THis is good info to get, first things first...
Today, nobody will pay him what he paid. Not even close. I'd certainly do a bit of explaining and show and tell with similar Morgans and what the recent sales prices reveal. Then I'd see if he really wanted to take the loss. Might be needing money for something else more important and your money is as good as anybody's.

Its terrible to think someone wasted a lot of money on those coins. Most likely an older person who wont or can't use the net to look for solid information.

Yes most will go looking for a good deal on a car but if some one calls you or you see it on T.V it's a good deal. Like that preacher saying he needs a new plane to save Fuel so the church should buy him one and he has 4 or 5 already.
Sadly, not old holders. How bad does he need to get out of his mistake?

Hope they're not in SEGS holders, does PCGS even cross those with all the work involved?
They’re all in Accugrade holders...
It's beer thirty.

What do you have to avoid paying, to profit ? That's the question. Answer : full retail.
