I picked mine because it's colorful and my initials are DEW. I've never actually drank a Mountain Dew.
...I literally pressed the flag on this one...I was going to ransom the flag for after you drink your first Mountain Dew...No Man shall exit this earth without drinking The DEW bro...but then it directed me to a secondary location and wanted me to actually give a reason for ratting you out with the flag so I just couldn’t do it...but seriously, barring full on type 1 diabeties....what the hell are you waiting for???
I am borderline type 2 diabetic but I'll try to find a diet Mountain DEW if they make such a thing.

I think I've had mine since around 2002 or 2003. Don't remember what it was before, but I don't think I used it the instant I joined in 2001.
Nope you didn't, you added yours about a year after you joined I recall, as a yn newbie, you quickly gained respect and admiration for your solid demeanor of life - you even had a bunch of appearances in Camelot run's..remember that?
When I first got on here, mine was a 1799 dollar that Stewart started. I just saw it in the list of avatars and since I considered my 1799 $ the Queen of my collection I grabbed it. Took a little kidding from Stewart. I changed it a few years back to Bix Beiderbecke since I'm very active in trying to keep his memory alive and his music because I like the music and he was my 2nd cousin.

Mine was a photo I shot of some letters I got at Micheal’s to make a sign for our antique mall booth just to show my wife, when unannounced, Sparky came up to have a sniff.
My first one was a PCGS XF45 1901-o Barber half obverse that I’d sold, stupidly.
Hammer struck and fully original.
Since I don’t have it anymore why look at it every time I’m on the forum.
But then, Sparky has passed, I have new doggies and we got out of the antique mall.
So, time for a new avatar I guess.
We're all born MS70. I'm about a Fine 15 right now.

So many questions about so many avatars here.
Who and why, your avatar @Coinstartled ?
Thank you for asking, AR.
Mickey Lolich was the quality left handed pitcher on the 1968 Detroit Tigers team. Denny McLain got most of the press that season with a brilliant 31-6 W/L record. In the World Series though, behind Lolich, Detroit overcame a 3-1 game deficit and won the series.

One on offer was an actual portrait of me (okay, a young me)

Added the gray hair and voilà

Mine is Buddy Lee, taken from a bobble-head I have of him. He was the popular Lee's Jeans advertising/symbol/icon from the 1940's and 1950's. I also created a more edgy triplet version of him but decided to stay with the less threatening color version. I joined this forum in 2006 and started using Buddy a year or two later through today.

If I have not already posted, my avatar is a painting I made. I use it as an avatar for any online forum I use, all 2 of them lol.
An edited version was featured as the design art for an autism conference material in the UK, and an edited version was used on a privately released book regarding autism there as well. The edit had “talk bubbles” like a comic book might, with unintelligible symbols spoken by the “monoliths” on the right side.

Some refer to overgraded slabs as Coffins. I like to think of them as Happy Coins.

Who was it that had the animated icon with the little crawling bugs? That one was great!
Many people stopped drinking the DEW when they lost their teeth.
That's a tooth flying out of the bottle.
Diet Dew is awesome.
