Received news of R. Tettenhorst's death today

R. Tettenhorst, known for assembling "The Missouri Cabinet" and "Davy Collections" of United States Half Cents has died. I do not have any further details at this time.
Lisa and I had the pleasure of knowing "Tett" for over 20 years. He was a class act, a true gentlemen, and a numismatist for the ages.
Our condolences are with his family, and our friends and colleagues in the numismatic community.

About time for EPN's afternoon ice cream. They have good times to share.
I never personally had the pleasure, but, beyond his Coppers, so many enjoyed his fellowship....
RIP, Tett
My heartfelt sympathies to his family and friends.
I wish that I would have had the pleasure of making his acquaintance.

Agree 100%
Oh, I am so sorry to hear that. He was one of those significant collectors who always had time to share his knowledge with other others who didn't to lord it over other people because he had a great collection. He will be sorely misssed at future EAC conventions.
condolences to all those involved on his passing.
Never met him, but it looks like he signed my Cohen book, too.

A nice guy who was a sophisticated numismatist who never saw the need to brag about his collection.
Met him at EAC in Annapolis many years ago, got to talk during the Half Cent Happening, an unforgettable experience!
RIP, and my condolences to his friends and family.

"Tett" was one of the finest gentlemen and numismatists I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. He did not know me from Adam but I was introduced to him at my first or second EAC Convention and he always had a warm hello and a fascinating coin or coin related topic to share whenever I ran into him thereafter. I never once heard him speak about his tremendous Half Cent Collection unless he was asked specifically about it. It is very sad to hear of his passing.
