Always check for TrueViews!

There's a coin for sale right now, CACed, on eBay, that is tempting for me to bid on. A nice original looking Fine of an early US type. Thought it might be TrueViewed thanks to the holder it's in, and sure enough, it is. Checked them just for another look at the coin, and there's obvious damage present at 3, 7 and 9 on the coin, which probably cost it a grade or two, hidden by the tabs of the PCGS holder.
Moral of the story? Check the TVs, don't buy the holder/sticker!

A the risk of asking a dumb question, what are TV's? (Yeah, I know it's not televison)...

True view images. But where do you check for them?
(This is probably another dumb question)

Also check your own submissions for TV's. I had 3 coins in a 29 coin submission end up with TV's. I didn't request them either. It was a nice surprise.
Do a cert. check.
Most labels with a Shield have a TV.
Thanks guys! For some reason, I never thought to check for True Views.
Found one of my new purchases from Stacks had one:

Well, by cracky!
I guess the one I made wouldn't count. It's a Garmin image.
Yes, finding Trueviews can a pleasant surprise.
Sometimes, it’s better to be LUCKY than good. 🍀 🍺👍

A great many coins don't have photos when you check the certification number. Photos are something PCGS should provide routinely going forward. It would provide one more big barrier for the Chinese crooks who have copied PCGS slabs to cross.
I agree @BillJones
What a huge benefit for certification if a buyer could look up the coin for verification AND have a top quality image as well

Since Jan 1st 2018, PCGS has required the Secure gold shield holders on express grading service level and above.
You can already see a huge increase in the number of coins with Trueviews.
There are 3,111 PCGS graded US coins in the upcoming signature auction at HA.
811 are in Secure holders.
You can also sometimes turn up a previous auction result with additional pictures.

Aslo check to see if it formerly had a sticker, some folks remove them.
I have found a couple of my coins have TruViews... did not know it when I purchased them... I have not checked all my slabs yet...lots to go...It was a pleasant surprise when I found my chop marked Trade Dollar had a TruView...Cheers, RickO
Many dealers are lazy in this regard; a couple busy local shops had coins with TVs that they had not checked. It is a lot easier for workers to stand around and talk, but if I ran a business with 3 workers or so, I would have them do research like this.
