Hello all!
I'm new here just thought I would said Hi. I didn't see a place to post this so please forgive me if I did it wrong!
Been collecting coins for awhile. Sold a prior Eagle collection now I'm on a mission to put together a complete MS-69 set! I miss having my old ones to look at! Anywho, I'm not too knowledgeable in Numismatics- just enough to get me in trouble with the wife! My youngins like to collect wheaties and other coins in general. He is keen on checking pocket change so maybe he will stumble across a nice 1909 some day!
I have a small baseball card collection too, all of which is not cataloged so I don't know everything I have.
Well, sorry for the rambling. Hope to connect with everyone soon! Thank you.

The average grade of a Silver Eagle is MS69. What that means is that if you buy a fresh roll of Silver Eagles MOST of them will grade MS69. Buying them raw, saves you a ton of money upfront, and a lot of heart-ache when you go to sell them and find out the only premium for MS69 are to retail customers.
Most MS69 Eagles are failed MS70 attempts.
You sound like you are having fun with coin collecting, so that puts you in a good spot already.
Hello AMRC, thanks for your knowledge!
I'm confused a little bit thou. Are you suggesting not to put together an MS-69 set(and do a 70 instead)? Thank you for your reply!
Welcome,
I’m more than sure you’ll find many answers to your questions in no time at all.
Happy hunting, Joe
I don't want to step on anyone's advice, but I think the suggestion was that collecting good looking raw SEs is the same as collecting slabbed MS69s, value wise. Most raw ones should be 69 if they have no obvious dings or scrapes, but you save the slabbing premium if you collect them raw (no slab).
Welcome have fun, I think I saw some graded Eagles for sale on the BST not mine but you may want to take a look.
Hoard the keys.
What most do is collect the coins in either of 2 ways. Bullion that is just authorized dealers printing copies of ASE or they buy the US mint version which is the ones with a Mint mark. I buy from the mint and prefer to buy direct. After that I will buy sets or rolls as an investment in silver (stacking). I do have some Slabbed bullion but only for the label if I like it. Like Trump inauguration or historic election. Some like signed labels from engravers. You have to decide. Do you want to be a coin collector, stacker, or both. Either way, read up on the items you purchase first
The other group that has shown collecting value are the FOIA struck at ones.
Congratulations sets are another group that has shown value in collecting.
Best place to buy !

Welcome to the forum! BTW Eagle can mean either American Silver Eagles or the older $10 gold coins (pre-1933) or even American Gold or Platinum Eagles. Hope you enjoy the forum. Lots of us are willing to help.

Fellas, leave the tight pants to the ladies. If I can count the coins in your pockets you better use them to call a tailor. Stay thirsty my friends......
@HeyItsMe .... Welcome aboard..ASE's are great...If you start a date/mm set.. the '95W might be a tough one...still, they are great coins.. and the bullion is good for stacking.... Cheers, RickO

Welcome to the learning boards here. Some advice- Dont buy coins as an investment but as a hobby.
Stay away from ms70 coins (like eagles) and stick with ms69 if thats what you like.
