@Stone193 I'm still going. 3 HOF'ers (2.5?) and still low print runs. I'm not sure what they can do to spice it up, but I'm sure they'll come up with something. I'm only missing the Nick Markakis, but I plan to fix that soon. I started late on this and paid the price for sure. This set will need its own binder soon.
I got a late start and had to pay way more than $5 (or $8) a card for a few of them. I bought a few graded 9 since it was cheaper than raw at the time.
I did this with the graded cards tonight.
Power tools is the way to go!
I'm only missing the #6 Nick Markakis now. Recent auctions have ended over $100. Still a little steep, even to satisfy my compulsion to have a complete set.
I purchased the Don Mattingly card. Now I am working on completing the New York Yankees team set. Thirteen cards, including the new CC Sabathia card. This is a very nice set of baseball cards.
"Nobody's ever gone the distance with Creed, and if I can go that distance, you see, and that bell rings and I'm still standin', I'm gonna know for the first time in my life, see, that I weren't just another bum from the neighborhood."
Is it worth it to have these cards graded? I have been looking very closely at my New York Yankees team set, and 2/3 of the cards appear to be slightly off-centered. They are potential PSA MINT 9 grades. The remaining 1/3 of the cards are potential PSA GEM-MT 10 grades. Otherwise, I can simply collect them as a raw set. Thank you in advance for any advice.

I am confused....it looks like the current set is only 2 cards....Thurman Munson and Jon Duplantier. Have they done that before? I thought they were always in bundles of 3?
Here's a couple of more for reference. Not much to comment.
For those who've wondered - here's the Mantle card that Topps produced.
What do you guys think?
ughhh I don't like it. Not a fan of the Living Set showing all time greats as old men. That's a late 1960's Mickey. Come on on Topps ... depict these guys closer to their career summit.
Like the set - but less so on players that had a card in ‘53 so the Mantle does not appeal to me. I always think the original was much nicer. I wonder how many years they will go - fun concept and would be exciting to collect something you get every week. Congrats on having the full run!
The Chipper is sharp. The pacing is pretty reasonable for those collecting it - haven’t even made. It to the number of a regular Topps set yet and has been going for years already. Wonder with Wander mania what his print run will be.

My guess is 40-60K on Wander. Could be low though. Kid is impressive.
Great run Mike. I’m curious what the lowest print run cards are ranging on production? Also, are you seeing a downward or upward trend on the set collectors as it approaches 500 cards? Neat set with some great looking cards!

Thanx Chris!
The lower pr's are in the 12 - 1300 range.
The pr is a function of "who's" in the current 2 card run (used to be 3).
E.g. Wander Franco pr was 68,228! While HOF'er Brooks Robinson was only 2384.
Most pr's are in the lower 1000s to 2000s from week to week.
Here's the last few cards e.g.
Here's a good resource from Beckett with the print runs: LINK
How many probably have a complete run? I would say not that many - in the hundreds.
Just a little update with another of the sheet of Topps Living. #322-330.
Also since it's gone over 500, I thought I'd post #1 and #500.
I thought the Gibson was well done.
Of interest, Mayumi Seto did the cards up to #376 and now shares the duty with Jared Kelly.
The artwork Set did on Aaron is almost the same as Angel Aviles did for the Topps Museum Canvas inserts. I was fortunate enough to pick up the 1/1 artwork for the Aaron.
Original artwork done by Aviles - as said compares well with Seto's (tho IMO, the Seto is more detailed).
The QC on the first 80 cards was horrible. PR numbers or not, the dye on these cards were horrible and makes it difficult to find mint cards. They look like paint splatter or speckles on the corners.

Here's the next three weeks.
We've got three HOF'ers!

My 1971 Topps adventure - Davis Men in Black
Another 3 weeks have gone by - was happily surprised to see Neon Deion!

Hiura was # 197.

I missed the boat on this. Too late for me now but I love the concept!

Hiya Dan
I feel a bit nuts for staying with it.
Don't think I scanned this - Topps did include with one of the orders a checklist set for the first 200 cards.
We are up to card #234.
I got a late start and had to pay way more than $5 (or $8) a card for a few of them. I bought a few graded 9 since it was cheaper than raw at the time.

Shows how unreliable Beckett is, Chris. They have that card booking at 300
The early Topps cards were coming in with rough corners compared to what I'm getting now.
They do have a set called Throwback Thursday.
I received this one today - designed after the 69T FB set - they're incredible - perfect condition with very thick stock.
Here's part of the set:
Nice, Mike. They have done a good job this season on Throwback Thursday offerings IMO.
As for Living, the CC Sabathia this week is a very nice card. I think he will make the HOF after retirement, eventually.
Agree Robert, thanx.
Just got another "throwback" with Alonzo RC included.
Here's this week's 3 sets of Topps Living - not much of a fan of the Piazza card.
Mike, agree on Piazza. On the flip side, nice job on the CC.

Odd - only 2 cards this week... first time it hasn’t been 3 (or 4 during checklist weeks).
Jim
I was wondering if this meant the end of the Living Set.
Strange for sure. 2 cards it is.

2 Cards again this week. Interesting way to raise the price.
Kris
My 1971 Topps adventure - Davis Men in Black
Actually, the report is Topps allowed the artist to provide 2 cards per week going forward so that she would continue painting.
Smart move. This saves the continuity of this set.
Agree that Topps always seems to find a way to profit from changes. But, after all, it is a business.
How nice of them. We wouldn't want her arm to fall off. She has done a great job on these.

Shane
Last few weeks have been 2 cards - looks like 10/23ish based on comments in this thread.
Jim
Duh... I guess I should have finished reading the thread!
Shane
I've decided to resurrect this thread on Topps Living.
This sheet brings us to card #250 (currrently up to card #386)
I'll bring this up to date over the next few weeks.
Why?
I thought those who don't collect or follow the run might see a card they'd like to have - they're usually quite affordable on eBay.
I do have the complete run which might be in the minority (of idiots?) but who knows? Bragging rights in the future?
I look forward to checking in to double check my Cardinals checklist. I check Topps' website every week on Wednesday.
Shane
Awesome Mike!
I do Yankees ONLY

It's great you are still doing the set, Mike.
I gave up long ago, but I pick up cards of my favorite players on occasion.
The addition of Jared Kelley as a second artist has been good for the program in my opinion.
Has there been two cards of a player yet? My understanding is that they will allow it if a player changes teams.
Shane
Thanx everyone for your comments.
Here's the checklist Sean - I don't recollect a 'dupe' yet?
Here's a few more - time is flying; can't believe it's up to 390!
Adding another 2 sheets:
I'm really liking the Brett card!
Also, the "Living Set" is featured in this month's Beckett Baseball.
Here's a couple of more for reference. Not much to comment.
For those who've wondered - here's the Mantle card that Topps produced.

I agree with you and Dan - I didn't want to give my opine until a few got to give theirs.
I'm not a fan of the "old" shot of Mantle in the 53T design - would rather have a shot when he was closer to being a rookie.
Hiya Dan
Your feelings have been validated.
Here's the "sell" results for the Mantle:
Only 14K sold. If they had used a "similar" portrait from his 52-3 years? The "sell" would've been in the 40 to 50K range IMO.

Good to see you buddy.
Thanx for bringing this back. Just got 2 cards today in the mail.
I just added another sheet. I'm way behind - this thread will have all the cards from the set since I've not missed any since it started.
Yes - we're approaching 500 cards!
As many may know, the set is being done by more than one artist right now.
I like the Chipper.
Great run Mike. I’m curious what the lowest print run cards are ranging on production? Also, are you seeing a downward or upward trend on the set collectors as it approaches 500 cards? Neat set with some great looking cards!
While this is a Throwback Thursday card and not Living Set I thought others may like it:
Available now. I love the 72-73 basketball design and it works well with baseball in my opinion.
