Anyone remember lordmarcovan????

What was the date on his proof 64....2 cent piece, that he used as his moniker coin @ the forums that he later sold to me????

What is money, in reality, but dirty pieces of paper and metal upon which privilege is stamped?

    The "Holey One" is around. I've seen him post on the world forum recently. Not familiar with your two center.

    You purchased the coin and don't recall the date of the coin? Hmmm.....

    He's over on CoinTalk (same handle) more often these days. He's also a night time worker bee, so posts at odd hours. I have something to mail him tomorrow and will let him know to check in here.

    Here's @lordmarcovan 's response:

    Tell him it was an 1868 PR64 RD. I believe 66Tbird still owns that one.

    That's what I've often called him.

    He's around somewhere.

    Hi! Yep. 1868. One of the nicest coins I've owned.

    1868 PCGS PR64 RD. I think it deserved CAM, too, though I don't think they did the CAM designation on 2c pieces back then.

    @66tbird was using it for his avatar.

    Edit- aha! Still is.

    I bought the coin from John B. Hamrick in the early 2000s.

    Hey Rob, Razorface is looking for you!

    I'm still around. Just more on CoinTalk nowadays, as mentioned.

    Don't worry - still love y'all. I just don't dribble as much drivel around here these days, is all. :)

    (There will be a few who are happy about that.) ;)

    @razorface purchased the coin from me and then "flipped" it a relatively short time later. That was more than a decade ago, so he can be forgiven for not remembering the date.

    So far as I know, its provenance over the last 12-15 years is:

    John B. Hamrick
    @lordmarcovan
    @razorface1027
    @66tbird

    I wish I still had pictures of it. That small avatar picture I made of it (which @66Tbird has used since acquiring the coin) is the only image I have left of it.

    I delete the pictures of coins I have sold.

    I find it's better that way as there's no seller's remorse when you can't see the coin anymore that reminds you of the beautiful coin that's in someone else's hands.

    Maybe I should take a picture of the buyer's check and look at that instead (lol).

    Thanks lord for posting. LOL...I remember your comment not long after I sold it to 66tbird..."boy, coins don't have a long shelf life with you, razor." That'd be true!!! Great to hear from you Lordy. Getting old has it's disadvantages on my end. Affectionately, razor1027
