Bought several of these 20 Francs listed in the World Coins category for $254 - $38 in eBucks = $216 net of credits. Melt value $249 for a 13% lower price to melt before credit card fees etc.

There are also Swiss 20F's at a slightly better deal as well.

what an amazing offer wish I had more ebay bucks available but used up my last $130 just now with a $10 lib XF and a Sovereign

There is no free lunch in the end; the steep charges and increases on the sellers subsidizes this. Many would do better selling semi-numismatics to Rarcoa, HA or one of the other wholesale buyers.

Just got it now, I'll have to check the watch list for any opportunities. I listed a few high dollar coins last week when the 8% buy/sell offer came out, I may throw a little discount on those to try and lure a few more eyes.

Just got the offer - strange.

Looks like you can max your ebay bucks by buying the French gold 2 at a time, o/w capped at $100!

eBay is only giving the full discount on one item so you have to max it out one at a time

Anyone have experience with snipes and ebucks??

If you accepted the offer, does the snipe look like a different customer that hasn't accepted the offer?

Unless you have multiple eBay accounts and snipe with a different one than accepted you are good, as long as purchase is made by cut-off time (tomorrow night?)

What increase on the sellers? I'm confused. My eBay fees are 5.6% up from 4.8% a couple years ago. Paypal is still 2.9%, as it has been form multiple years.

I don't pay anywhere near 15%...and Apmex pays even less.

The only cost here is if I either fail to use the eBay Bucks next month or eBay cancels the program over the weekend. Frankly, even if eBay canceled the program, the credit card cashback was still more than the gold premium.

On performance, look at "selling costs", even as a top rated seller, etc. it is at: "10.7%
    of your total sales".

Net selling costs under performance include shipping costs. Actual eBay + PayPal fees for me are 9% (including the $59.95 store cost). Again, my eBay fees are 5.6% (6.1%-10% top seller discount) and 2.9% (+30cents) PayPal fees. For inexpensive items, the 30 cent paypal transaction fee is often more than the eBay fees.

If you are at 10.7%, then either you don't have a store (you pay 10% FVF) or you are including the eBay labels.

If you don't have a store and sell almost any dollar volume, you should. Cuts your fees to 6.1% or as low as 5.6% if you are toprated plus.

  • logger7logger7 Posts: 8,615 ✭✭✭✭✭

I have the $20 store and do free shipping so maybe that's the difference. I don't pay any special listing fees.

But ebay charges 10% on top of the shipping label cost, which you can circumvent by entering the paypal generated shipping label into ebay, using stamps.com or usps corporate account.

eBay shipping labels are cheaper than PayPal if you are top-rated plus. But, regardless, those fees have barely changed in years. It is 10% eBay + 2.9% Paypal without a store and 6.1% eBay + 2.9% PayPal with a store. But, either way, it hasn't gone up much in years.

My search function for Ebay has really been a pain recently. A lot of what I search for acts like it does not exist. I have seen this previous on a couple coins I ordered, I found them on a google search but could not locate them on a Ebay search. I put them in my watched list and see them just fine, yet I can not search and find them.

For example, Take the APMEX rooster link above. I can click on it and see the listing. I can see other items from APMEX for sale. I can copy the auction # and search and come up with the listing again. No Problem.

Then take the Silvertowne eagle roll. I can click on it and see the listing and make a purchase. I can add it to the watched list from that link. But when I click on seeing other items, nothing! Click on completed listings, nothing! I take the auction item # and paste it into the search bar, nothing!

Anyone have any idea what the problem is? Like I say, I have seen it recently with other sellers over the last week. It is frustrating because I like to see what else is available before paying shipping costs and I can't always do that right now and I don't see everything using Google as my ebay search tool.

MCM replenished the supply of 2017 ASEs. Current price is $395.20. That's $59+ in Ebay bucks, plus whatever your CC gives you. My last net was $331 for a roll

You're limited to $100 in ebay bucks from one item so buying something over $667 (@ 15% ebay bucks) causes inefficiency! Same thing with over $1000 @ 10%, over $1250 @ 8%, and over $1667 @ 6%.
