Walker Proof Digital Album Fellas, leave the tight pants to the ladies. If I can count the coins in your pockets you better use them to call a tailor. Stay thirsty my friends......
I realize that they minted a blue zillion 1889's, but I found that a true MS65 can be a bit elusive in that date. A jump from $97 to $275 (MS64 to MS65) seems echo that thought. Bottom line, that's a gorgeous '89! (it even rhymes !).
"Ain't None of Them play like him (Bix Beiderbecke) Yet." Louis Armstrong
Thick luster and nice, definitely real all around as seconded by cac. Must have been well over a grand! I heard theories about how the toning developed in the bank bags or rolls.
Thanks all for the comments! The date is mentioned because you almost never see 1889 Morgans with nice color. Although it isn't a particularly tough date overall, they are hard to find above MS65 and especially so with this kind of rainbow.

Awesome coin! Only thing that would make it even better is the little "CC" on the reverse.

Nice color on that one.
That date is tough in MS65 and the lovely color is a big plus...can sure see why you're happy with it!

Beautiful 1889. And a superb strike to compliment it. Nice pick up.
Not a better date but a very nice neon monster!
out of true curiosity I wonder why any comment about the date is mentioned or even relevant here.
Cool pick up - nice EA def a keeper I bet!

David..agreed and I concur.
This message was not meant for you.
Those are conditional rarities / color rarities. Not "better dates" although I suppose we are splitting hairs a bit I guess.
