He has been hacked post sentencing. Likely to happen to those who frequent porn sites.

No click here for sure
Crap, I thought it would be a nice e-mail saying that his sister will be mailing checks to all the consignors he owes money to, including accrued interest at 5%. Nah, I have a better chance at winning Powerball.
What could possibly go wrong?
Like the vampire's bite.
A visit from the FBI, for one.
He only has my physical address (my Secret Santa) but I'm not worried...I still have the slab.

I got one but deleted it without opening. I figured it was a scam.
How do you know it was his email contact list that was hacked and not yours?
If his email address is in your email contacts list then it may very well have been a faked mass email generated to thousands of folks by someone or some organization you have never heard of and don't want to know. In other words, I would bet the email had nothing to do with him and everything to do with a hack attempt.

Strange emails in my inbox get deleted.... there is enough junk that gets through from site visits etc.. I have not seen the email in question, but it would not get opened if it shows up. Cheers, RickO

No, but in checking my junk folder did find one purporting to be from Stewart Blay.
It is hard enough dealing with "real" scammers, but you have to look out for fake ones as well.
Sometimes I hate the Internet. It is worse than the Wild West....
The potential for abuse should have been foreseen and addressed by the brainiacs who invented it - the were very smart but also very stupid. There is (virtually no) no accountability. In regard to hacks, they destroy assets, equipment, reputations, etc., but those responsible almost never suffer any consequences.
