We had an interesting customer today.

Today around 5 o'clock a guy walks into the shop with a big plastic tub full of stuff, so much that he had a hard time even getting in the door and up to my boss' desk. I was busy with something else but still overheard a little of what was going on. When I had the time I stopped by to see what he'd brought, lots and lots of plastic holders that he said his dad had made, that his dad could make "any kind of holder he wanted." As I walked away I wondered what he meant because the holders looked like typical Capital Plastic for sets like Peace Dollars, etc.
When they were finished and we were getting ready to close I stopped again and asked a few questions.
It turns out that his father works at Capital Plastics in Middlefield, Ohio which is about 25 miles SE of our shop. Apparently he worked for another manufacturing company that Capital purchased and they hired him . That was 28 years ago. I guess the man has done all aspects of the manufacturing since then and is currently the Plant Manager, the joke being that he still fires up the machines to make some specialty items..
I just thought it was a cool meeting since I know many members are fond of Capital holders. His dad probably made a lot of what we use.

Cool!
It's funny the people you meet at the coin shop.
Nice story !!!![:) :)](https://forums.collectors.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
my interaction with this young man had a genuine "feel good" aspect to it.
after we closed I walked out of the store with him and locked up, leaving my boss behind to tend to some show preparation for today. though I never got the guy's name we talked a bit in the parking lot. he told me that several years ago his father had a terrible motorcycle accident, the result being a coma which lasted for three years, during which time he underwent 37 separate operations. his father came out of the coma, recovered fully and shows no lingering signs of the accident, a miracle of sorts.
through it all, Capital Plastics Corporation held out for him and when he was physically able he returned to work!!!
Bravo to them.
+1

Wow.... that is an amazing story Al.....what a recovery....the physical rehabilitation alone must have been a major ordeal...So were the products all plastic holders or were there coins as well?? Cheers, RickO
Yes it is. There's still some good things going on in the world.
Just when you think you've met them all..........you always meet one more. (In a good way, of course).

RickO, it was a coin deal and everything was in plastic. nothing of note that I know of yet.
There really needs to be an "Awesome" button added. This deserves so much more than a "Like". Thanks for sharing.

Their 2x2 4-screw holder is the best 2x2 out there for mailing high valued raw coins IMO.
Bing Capital Plastics in Middlefield, Ohio to find their website but I use WizardCoinSupply .
The more qualities observed in a coin, the more desirable that coin becomes!
