Is There a New Autocorrect Feature on This Forum?
![giorgio11](https://us.v-cdn.net/6027503/uploads/userpics/482/n2DC20VGHMYMC.png)
I just got through typing a note in which I used several common numismatic terms--prooflike, restrikes, restriking--and in each case I had to go back and undo the autocorrections of "proof like," "restricts," and "restraining," respectively. I HATE THAT! As a longtime writer and numismatic editor, I am used to typing exactly what I expect to be published, and most of my copy (save for the occasional fumble and periodic excesses of numismatic gas) is, I think, pretty error-free. Has anyone else noticed a new autocorrect feature going on, or am I alone once again?
Kind regards,
George

I seeem to be able to missspel words just fine.
I have to write items in word, and cut/paste to get spell checked on this forum.
My computer guy has set things up so that the server can't into my computer that way. I think that it has something to do pop-ups. But, yes, I have seen the autocorrect system work when I have used my father-in- law's computer.
Yes the auto correct is operational here and I dislike it also, to put it nicely...Thanks rln
The only auto-correct I know here is that sad face with the word "disagree"
I see it with my great Windows 10 everywhere .....
I think this is due to your OS and browser and not the forum software.
I have not noticed any auto-correct on my typing...I do occasionally make a typing error... and have to go back and correct it myself....must be related to the system used to view the forum.... Cheers, RickO
I haven't changed my OS or browser, yet the autocorrection has just been happening for the last few days, if I'm not mistaken.
prooflike restriking restrike
Hmm, interesting, it did not autocorrect them this morning (but still does not like them). Let's try some others:
planchet troquel filigree numismatically caballito pesado ceca casa de moneda el aguila de perfil onza plata argento oro
Interestinger yet (and yes, it did not like that; I had to retype it). It offered no suggestions on any words above, even the Spanish ones.
Heimlich Himmlische Spanische afforderung Aufzug Zentralzugbahnhof Geschwindigkeitsbegrenzung
it don't like the words ..... broadstruck, brockage,

Anyone know if we can turn the autocorrect off?....Thanks rln
Good question. Wish I had the answer. The feature comes from many different places.

I just signed up for Grammarly for a project that I am working on and it kicks in here now .....![:o :o](https://forums.collectors.com/resources/emoji/open_mouth.png)
I mostly check the forum on my tablet and autocorrects all the time...but usually wrong. Lately it's autocorrecting words I spell correctly into random jumbles of letters that start out the work I actually typed but then repeat the first two letters and then add in it's own. VERY frustrating.
Here on my actual computer there is no autocorrect, if I spell something wrong everyone will see that I hit the wrong key...but it does put a red squiggly line underneath the word so I usually fix it beforehand, IF I bother to proofread.
Most of the time when I make a typo it's a real word put in a wrong place. I think faster than I type and that doesn't always work well.
