"Impaired" Proof

I was searching thru the PCGS Population Reports and noticed that there are two PR02 Trade Dollars and a single PR02 Two Cent Piece. So, let's show off our PR02-PR58 coins!

How would you even tell it was a proof in 2? Unless it was a year/denomination that was proof only I can't imagine any of the proof characteristics would survive.
I am sure the coin still has proof like characteristics. I bought a 1900-P Morgan dollar once for $25 or $30 (when silver was near its peak a few years back) that was an obvious proof to me. PCGS graded it PR50.
Wow... a PR02? Yep... would be difficult to confirm...Cheers, RickO
Some Proofs have die variety chaacteristics that do not appear on the made for circulation coins. Some of these markers are small, however, and for those it's hard to believe that they would still be visible on an extremely low grade piece.
Gotta be true if a TPG certifies it. Right?

The two PR02 Trade Dollars are both 1882. Which is a Proof Only year with a montage of 1,097 pieces.
I was wrong on the Two Cent Piece. There are three in PR08 which are from 1873. Also interestingly, two 1856 Flyong Eagle’s in PR04.
I always thought there was a difference between an IMPAIRED PROOF and a CIRCULATED PROOF.
Anyone, else think there is a "hair-splitting" difference?
Here's a PR-04 that I remember being discussed somewhere...
