What is is? Brass, gold? Big chunk out the rim appears someone else had the same question. Bi-centennial medals were the rage at one time. No so anymore.

It is just a Bi-centennial medal... of which many were made at the time. Not a coin, not precious metal.... virtually worthless, though kids would like it....Cheers, RickO

A very poorly made bicentennial medal. Probably just some bronze composition. Note the green corrosion on some of the letters on the reverse.
It is 'real' it is just not a 'coin'.

It's like professional wrestling, it can't be "fixed" (fake) because it was never broken.
Privately minted copper or brass round. I believe it was also produced in silver. Not a counterfeit or fake.
A genuine fake.
This is not a gold coin, did someone try to bite it?
all around collector of many fine things

hopefully someone gave it to you
It looks like a cheap novelty coin.

It solid color gold in where the dent is. Not copper, or silver. I will get a closer pic
I doubt that it is Gold, most likely brass or some bronze/alloy.
