    Yes

    Technically the math is right for right at Jan 1, it will always be 1 off after your birthday that year.

    '51 is the year you were born, not your age.

    So if you are 66, ten 77 - 66 = 11 + 40 means you were born in '51.

    Actually for 2018 I think it should be 78 and then 40. Should work unless you're under 18 or over 118...and this is Dec 31/Jan 1 math trickeration as obviously it will be 1 off after your b-day has passed.

    Any 2 numbers that add up to the current year last 3 digits (minus the 2xxx part) should work.....

    (77 - age) + 40 = yy
    40 + 77 - age = yy
    117 - age = yy
    age + yy = 117

    yyyy = yy + 1900

    age + yyyy = 2017

    Basically what this is saying is:

    (if your birthday has not passed this year)
    the year of your birth +plus+ your age in years =equals= the present year -minus- one
    yyyy + age = 2018 - 1

    (if your birthday has passed already this year)
    the year of your birth +plus+ your age in years =equals= the present year
    yyyy + age = 2018

    I think we already knew that ;)
