1870-CC dollar. Low grade but ...perfect...

I've looked a long time for a nominally circ 1870-CC dollar.
This should do it.
To me, it looks appropriate for the minting region and what should happen in dance halls, Faro games, general purchasing of western stuff and a pouch or saddlebag.
Okay, I'm getting all "romance of the west" but this coin pleases me.
I've had higher grade, but even that had a "problem."
From what I've seen, most of this issue DOES have problems.
If this one does, it's tolerable to me.
Now I can start on a new quest.
"Fine" is just fine with me.

Very nice

Great look to that coin. I bought one raw years ago, when I first started and did not then understand "originality." While not physically cleaned the natural patina was dipped away.
Looks fine to me. Congratulations
The whole worlds off its rocker, buy Gold™.
I like it! What a cool piece of history.
Looks great to me.

My Great Grandfather Matt spent that dollar at the Eagle Market in CC in 1878...I know, he told me so.

Absolutely beautiful coin. I would be delighted to own that, as well.

I LOVE coins that exhibit a little DNA........
The hands that that coin touched would tell a story.

That's the cool part. Nevada has such a rich history and yet try to find artifacts of that era.
Lost mines. Paiutes, maybe the most vicious Indians. Murder and glory alternating. Truly the WILD west.
About all you can find about Nevada artifacts on eBay are picture postcards.
I've always enjoyed knocking about in Nevada.
If you can, visit Tonopah and Goldfield.
Very nice old CC Morgan.... yep... probably purchased a lot of whiskey and other necessities.... Cheers, RickO
Thanks for all the nice comments. I've looked for an example like this for a long time.
If you have any interest in Old Nevada, I highly recommend the compilation of Harold's Club newspaper blurbs of the 1950's that were published BY Harold's Club.
It's out of print but can be found on eBay with any diligence. I read it first at the age of 9 and have never lost my fascination with the state.
Here's a copy of it on eBay.

Great look to it, nice skin.
I would have bought it too.

Yes Nevada does have a lot of very cool history. I've travelled through a bunch of times . CC mint and Virginia City are highlites. Did you hear the story of the hoard of $50 slugs passing through on a wagon train ambushed by the Indians. I'll try to locate from a 1990's article.

That's a real nice coin.... and your right it does make one wonder whose pocket it was in.
That's the one I'd want.

Should have kept it. Kinda cool.
But I would still have got this one.
