I really like this coin EXCEPT for?
There is always an "except" for me, I ALWAYS find at least one if not two that burst my bubble.
What is your bubble burster on the following coin?

...well for one, the sticker looks thumbed and the photos are way too big....definitely a pass
Maybe the small spot under CENTS? However it has been in that holder for a couple decades so it's probably not getting any bigger. The N is a little weak but I don't know the series so I assume that's typical given that this is an old 65.
Collector, occasional seller
But, but it stickered...
(Just kidding)
I find the die cracks a distraction. Some are ok with them.
I thought the die cracks added character. All joking aside, I like the coin a lot.
The motto is too small for my liking.
Maybe if it was an 1863 I'd like it better?
For the most part it looks like a pretty nice coin.
A tiny spot on the obverse and the reserve, and a patch of darker toning on the obverse, are
the only flaws I see.
And I'm sure you don't mind the woodgrain toning
Actually the only bubble burster for me is the price!
Usually I don't mind and even enjoy die cracks. But I agree with you on this one, they are distracting.
erase...erase...erase...if I can't say something nice...

The NGC holder. I know that for a lot of you that is a non starter.
You nailed it Chris.
The obverse had me hooked, I like my copper brown but this coin was so beautiful that I was willing to take a chance on a RB because of the obverse....than I perused the reverse and that "spot" made my stomach churn, it was a volcano of puss IMHO, I was so disappointed.
Hey Bill! Wanna see some of the PCGS coins that don't pass "my" standards?
Looks pretty nice to me. Maybe BN, not RB. But otherwise wholesome.
Lance.
Is that the same coin Lance?
I like your image better than what Heritage has to offer..........I think...................I keep looking..............brown is better..........
Yep, I like your image better!
I don't think it's the same coin......................
the price?
The spot and the small ding on the base of the shield are distracting.... but not show stoppers for me. Die cracks such as those are not bad, add a little character. Cheers, RickO
Yes, it's the same coin.
Heritage often offers two sets of images. "Glamor shots" which are brightened and color enhanced. And slab shots. The latter almost always better represent the coin. I merely cropped them above.
Below are the glamor shots and full slab shots.
Lance.
Looking at the photos in the holder, would not buy it if I were looking for an RB example: however, Heritage photos..... would want to see in hand if convenient.
I don't know. Coin looks nice.
I really like it EXCEPT for the fact that I can't afford it.
Pete
I can't see any reason not to like it. The little spot on the reverse is really out of the way, and the surfaces and color are pleasing. Remember MS-65 does not mean "perfect." The little spot is not a problem because it is small and NOT GROWING.
I like the coin, and see no real negatives.
I like this particular coin, but in general spots will bother me if they are in any area that makes the spot pop. Large hits/bag marks in the fields will bother me also.
