Just trying to get a good idea what I should grade this at. I'm thinking about MS62.

MS62........your grading skills and mine seem to match.
I'm also under the impression that this is a Vam 3-B.

MS-62 was my first impression BUT these coins have great luster. An MS-63 can have big marks in PFA so I'm going to say TPGS = 63. It can also use some conservation as it looks to have some PVC spots/haze - best seen on the star in front of the nose.
I tried highlighting some of the clash, neck spike and cracks. Hard to get them in the pics.

MS62/63 depending on what it looks like in hand vs. the pictures.
Yea it's more of a white coin than what the pics are showing. I darkened them a little to try to show the clashing and cracks. These are closer to inhand looks.

I would come in at around 62/63.
I’ll go 63. Second set of photos is better.
The reverse looks like MS 64 and the obverse MS62. Lot of good that helps I know. Does ANACS still net grade? if so I think you could expect a MS 63 from them. My impression is that NGC and PCGS will just assign the lower of the two grades especially if the lower graded side is the obverse.
I would say MS-62. The cheek is really busy with marks, and the reverse which looks to be MS-63 or a weakly struck MS-64, really can't make up for that.
62 but guessing PCGS would slab it a 63. She's nice.
The whole worlds off its rocker, buy Gold™.
MS62.... but interesting reverse die crack and also clash marks... Cheers, RickO

MS63, VAM3C, R-6.

IMO, it would be helpful if you would circle the greenish PVC stains. I suggest you don't send it in for grading until they are removed or you will have no chance for the MS-63 grade I predicted. If you ask for conservation, that will possibly increase the chance of a 63 as it will make the TPGS and your coin look good!
I don't plan to send it in for grading. Any ideas on getting rid of the pvc without any damage to the coin?

Soak in pure acetone for a while and then re-soak again. Acetone evaporates very quickly and you have to cover the little glass dish (don't use plastic). Once the green is removed rinse again in fresh acetone. Pure acetone is cheap so don't be afraid to use it. Make sure it's PURE and not scented or some other enhancement. Acetone will evaporate completely and not leave a residue on the coin.
good luck,

...And don't rub it.
What do you do next went the acetone does not work completely? Happens to me a lot.
I have no idea what to do next. If that does not work and you still want the green gone, send to PCGS and get it restored.

I use MS-70. The reason I asked was to see if you knew some "tricks" I was not familiar with.
I'd agree, looks really original, and they can go easy on those in the grading room.
Yea I've used acetone and have some. Maybe one day I'll take it back to my shop and rinse it a few times and see what it does. I think ms70 is more of a dip isn't it? I have dip but I don't want to dip it as it is just starting to get a couple golden tone spots on it. Lol

No tricks in my playbook. I have used PCGS for restoration and been very pleased with their results. And then I know it gets graded.

I don't have a membership with them right now and nothing else really to have graded so not really worth the dollars to me right now. Think I'll keep it raw for awhile.

She is beautiful with a lot of stories behind her. MS63?
I'm solidly in the MS62 camp.
